Nice pics, but when I tried to it the “back” button to return to FR, I got some links labeled “Looking for a red hot conservative chick? Go to _____.com!”
Aside from that, those pics make me want to look into getting new engines for my model train set.

My grandpa had a popular German bakery in Berwyn, Illinois (western suburb of Chicago). It was located across the street from the Berwyn Burlington RR station where I often watched during the forties what we kids called "the streamliner" pull into the station.
I remember being completely entranced by the silver beauty of the trains gleaming in the sunlight and the "Flash Gordon" aura of the trains.
From the photos, the trains looked like the "Zephyr" pictured, but whether they were actually "Zephyrs" or "Streamliners" I can't remember. Maybe a freeper railroad buff would know.

Pure Dieselpunk. Not hard to see why these things have a certain fanbase.

Some of the great streamline trains were the work of Raymond Loewy; one of the greats of industrial design for many decades.

Kewel.
Luv’d the observation cab.
I use to ride the train on the east coast and while we occasionally rode 1st class, finding the seating a little bit exclusive.
I had no problem, generally, riding regular train. Seating on the weekend is generally not full and few people ride each car.
