As late as April 21, 1945 Joseph Goebbels, the model for the mainstream media, made a speech hoping to rally Germans to the defense of Berlin. It was a futile exercise and he knew it. He also knew that at that point very few people were listening to him and fewer still believed what he said. Within weeks the whole Nazi empire was finally wiped away – it was over.

Today’s Joseph Goebbels’ are found in the newsroom of the New York Times and other socialist nests. They cynically churn out Goebbels-like propaganda for Barack Obama, rarely allowing facts or reality to get in the way.

On July 4th Americans celebrated the 238th birthday of our nation. Being of the other side – the enemy side-Collins, who is the Times’ current Goebbels-in-residence, chose to mark the day with a rambling, generally incoherent editorial attacking a recent poll regarding her Fuhrer.

Collins opens with, “Perhaps you’ve heard Barack Obama was named the worst president since World War II…” This is the last sensible comment she makes. It recognizes that, for the most part, the far Left readers of the New York Times likely don’t know a thing about the world except what the Times allows them to know. Goebbels would have started his version by saying...

When Harding died, Germany was a democracy. The "beer hall putsch" was still in the future, let alone the Nazi takeover of the government. So who cares if Harding had a German girlfriend? To quote the most brilliant Secretary of State in our history, "What difference does it make?"

Of the Democratic Presidents in the 20th century, the known adulterers include Wilson, FDR, JFK, LBJ, and Bill Clinton. The only ones never even suspected of that were Truman and Carter. So Democrat shills might think twice before they start throwing stones.

Ms. Collins had to go back almost 100 years, to Warren Harding, to find a Republican president who committed adultery on a regular basis.

On the Democratic side, we have, in descending order, Billy Clinton, LBJ, JFK and FDR.

As I understand it, Harding got the country out of a terrible post WW1 depression by getting the government out of the way of the economy, and did a great job ushering in the prosperity of the 1920s. Coolidge continued those policies, and didn’t have cronies getting bribes, but the bribery of Harding’s administration is a drop in the bucket compared to the crony capitalism of the Obama administration, from the Solyndra to the Union deals to Planned Parenthood getting its cut of taxpayer dollars.
