As I said today on MSNBC, a pathway to legal status could pass the House only after the American people believe the border is secure. I oppose amnesty in any shape or form, as well as any reforms that reward unlawful behavior. Our broken immigration system cannot be fixed until the border is secure and we have an Administration that will enforce the Rule of Law.

Any Republican that slips into the PRE-CANTOR DEFEAT mentality better BACKTRACK QUICKLY, or else they will have to deal with a Primary opponent in 2016.
Before Cantor’s defeat, it was ok to play footsie with the President on Amnesty, because the Tea Party was TOOTHLESS, a lot of bluster, but no money, and therefore NO PRAYER of winning.
June 10th changed that, and even people like Blake now have to keep an eye over his shoulder - and he just did. Went back to the “Kick it down the road answer”, which is to promise to talk only “After the Border is Secure”...knowing that condition will not be met until there’s a new President.
Amnesty under any circumstances is a mistake.
Suppose King George III King Barak agrees to tighten border security, and even does it and amnesty is granted to 13 - 14 million illegals. Fast forward a year. King Barak kills border security, but the illegals still have amnesty and are here collecting welfare at the expense of the rest of us.
I got into it with Sherrod Brown (Socialist- OH) a few years back. His final statement to me was, “Let’s have amnesty first, then we can decide how high to build a fence and how many border patrol agents we need.” I told him he was full of s***.
What's needed is legislation that says that anybody caught in the US illegally can NEVER, EVER become a citizen or legal resident of the US.
And then should be deported to the southern tip of his country of origin.
Yes...I hit the phone immediately to those who have connections in his district. Another DOLT!
Agreed, deport all illegal immigrants.
Create new immigration law.
Start with the Mexico immigration law, then make it tougher to be a Citizen or get a work permit.
Apply a Hawaii type homestead rules to property ownership. ie. you need a lot of proof that your family was born in one of the fifty states in order to own land
