The U.S. Army has reported that it has found no evidence that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey engaged in any misconduct during his five years in captivity of the Taliban.
The report stated that there is no evidence Bergdahl helped his captors while he was held after going missing from his Army outpost in eastern Afghanistan five years ago today, June 30, 2009. However, the Army has not concluded its investigation into the Bergdahl case. Officials still plan to invetsigate the circumstances of Bergdahl's capture by enemy forces. That investigation is expected to last several weeks or more.
Bergdahl reportedly told the Army that the conditions of his captivity were very difficult and that he was confined to a cage for part of the time.
For more on this story, read the Wednesday, July 2, edition of the Express.
You have to be persistent. My Dad tangled with them forever until they knuckled. Stay after ‘em!
[...] but the Military figured that years in enemy POW camps was punishment enough. That whitewash is too thin to cover the DESERTION that lead directly to the deaths of several brothers in arms who risked and lost their lives looking for that treasonous towel-head wannabe coward. Make him pay with his life. Even that would be less than fair.
The men there (the ones who stayed and served) said attacks in the area went up considerably after Bergdahl’s surrender. They speculated he gave the enemy info as to weaknesses.
There was also chatter his captors just wanted a payoff. Not sure how that turned into emptying GITMO to get the guy back.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that ISIS goes on the march at the same time Bergdahl is released.
Gibbs rule #39.
Which in this instance leads to Rule #16.
So, I guess Harry Budge had better take a vacation.
a picture really is worth a thousand words
Of course he’s cleared... we didn’t expect this regime to allow a court-martial to actually go forward, did we??
Soooooo predictable..
Meanwhile, real Soldiers and Marines are tried fir murder for shooting Taliban on motorcycles.
This country is FUBAR.
