Scandal: The IRS canceled a contract with an email storage contractor weeks after Lois Lerner reported lost personal files and before other IRS officials had their hard drives crash as Tea Party-targeting investigations began.
Timing is everything, the saying goes, and sometimes the timing of events is also very curious, as in the case of the lost emails of Lerner and at least six other officials at the very same time the IRS canceled its contract to back up and preserve those emails as required by federal law.
Lerner's computer supposedly crashed in June 2011, an alleged event the IRS concealed from the American public and congressional investigators for two years.
This event, which cannot be verified because her hard drive has since been destroyed and recycled, occurred just 10 days after House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rep. Dave Camp first wrote a letter asking if the IRS was engaging in targeting of nonprofit groups.

What?
No way....
IRS SCANDAL PING
The OBAMA REGIME wanted these e-mails to the WHITE HOUSE and outside groups to disappear......I PRAY there is a DECENT person that will blow the lid off this scandal!! But they are DEMOCRATS and there is not one decent one among them!
Time to subpoena SONASOFT to see WHO CANCELLED it!!
Duh.
Really?
I can’t believe it!
I mean, seriously?...................
Gee, ya think?
So all of the backup files at the contractor were wiped and the hard drives were destroyed. Then where are the backed up files ?The I.R.S. Is required to have backed up files by the Federal Government.
So in the future how is the I.R.S. Going to prove TAX fraud when they erased all of their previously backed up files ?
4 star General Obvious ping
There is a receiver server for all emails sent.
The head of the IRS at that time would be ultimately responsible. They should just throw that person in jail unless they can prove that authority was delegated to someone else. And still, the IRS head would have to sign off on it, I'd think.
If nobody goes to jail and those emails aren't found by some very savy tech people, there's only one conclusin that can be drawn. That would be that the HOR 'pubs are protecting high ranking friends who are involved.
Koskinen testified last night that the Sonasoft contract only covered the 3,000 employees in the Office of Chief Counsel. If true that would mean Lerner’s emails were not backed up by Sonasoft.
I don’t believe anything Koskinen says, but there must be some way to verify his claim. Issa needs to follow up on that.
IRS SCANDAL PING
These tools are there and should be used. It's clear the lawless Obozo mal-administration will do nothing.
If I’m not mistaken, the IRS has provided no evidence that the hard drive ever crashed. It’s just a repeated assertion, with no records showing the supposed event ever occurred or was handled.
Seems they could provide an IT person as a witness to back up these claims.
Somebody backs up their computers. Perhaps it's done internally, perhaps some other contractor does it... but someone does it. No company operates (especially for senior people like Lerner) without doing backups.
The IRS is stonewalling. The only way to get the answers will be if some brave (and suicidal) soul in the organization decides to be a whistleblower.
Bo ate them.
I think the order came from the White House. I want to hear from SANSOFT the NAME of the person who cancelled it.
