Yeah, these guys start getting slap-happy at the wrong times. We got an election coming up in five months, and they suddenly want to start this Hatfields vs. McCoys crap. It's no wonder we've been getting our asses handed to us. Libs find a way of cobbling together enough nickel-and-dime single issue blocs to at least get a plurality (with a healthy assist from ballot box thievery), but we've seemed to find a way to bugger ourselves since Bush I. And I'll be blunt - if it weren't for the fact that someone forgot a stray ballot box to stuff with hanging chads and then 9/11 happened, we'd have been subjected to eight years of that insufferable SOB, Algore. Dubya and Cheney did more than a little that I questioned from a Constitutional POV, and Obama has taken the worst of it and run amok, but imagine if Mr. Global Whining had held the reins first. I hate to invoke 'the devil you know' metaphor, but Dick and Dub weren't trying to send us over the cliff quite as fast.
