Salon editor Elias Isquith takes right-wingnuts to task in his latest piece, objectively titled Wingnuts war on the troops: The ugly lesson of Bowe Bergdahl and Sarah Palin.
The article is riddled with false assertions and insanely muddled logic bent to satisfy a preferred apologist agenda, the most ridiculous example Ive seen since David Sirotas Gee, I hope the Boston Bombers a White Guy and Not a Muslim article from last April which, incidentally, also graced the e-leaves at Salon. But its yet another example exposing the extent to which entrenched media figures will commit to impossible mental somersaults to defend against the indefensible.
Isquith chastises Sarah Palin for her Facebook post which argues, You blew it again, Barack Obama, by negotiating away any leverage against the bad guys.
Their argument, in brief, writes Isquith, obviously referring to Palin and those dim enough to entertain her points of criticism, is that [b]y agreeing to trade prisoners of war with the Taliban, Obama made the US look what else? weak.
I, for one, am impressed at the boldness in such a statement being made to convey the stupidity of those on the contrary side of his argument. Imagine the egotism it takes to think that typing such a short tongue-in-cheek quip would upend decades (at least) of conventional wisdom so sound that it had heretofore been considered unmovable US foreign policy. Consider for a moment -- had the words the Taliban been replaced in the previous citation with terrorists, only a fringe ideologue could suggest that such an action would not make the US look weak for capitulating to demands requiring the release of five enemy officials for one friendly soldier, in an obviously lopsided exchange.
So what gives?(continued)

If 0bama got back the biggest hero in American military history he still committed high treason by letting the five most dangerous terrorists in custody go.
And he broke the law by not sharing his plans with Congress 30 days in advance.
How ironic: that requirement was signed into law by him. Yes, there was a mealy mouthed signing statement, but the law is the law.
I’d say Salon doesn’t know what to think or how to protect their dear leader.
Clearly, the mere mention of Sarah Palin makes them apoplectic, which under these circumstances says a lot.
And we expect literate, rational sanity from the Left?
Not in this universe. Maybe in Bizarro Land(where lives Oliver Stoned, Michael Moore food, Cindy Code Pinko Sheehan, the MSNBC herd, and a lot of Hollywood).
So, that brings us up to three major laws he broke in this one deal.
Nothing gives. Weak, effeminate, stupid but compliant people were placed in charge of Executive Cabinet posts as secretary—to say nothing of the automobile “Czar” (of I believe 47 “Czars) who oversaw the dismantling of GM and Chrysler and the illegal defrauding of bondholders—who by law had first place at the trough when they bankrupted.
This little prick, 28 years old, never had a job, was put in charge of the operation by Obama. This asswipe never even worked in auto-parts store.
So, the asswipe was married to a woman who worked at the Federal Election Commission, also an unqualified political appointee, together they compiled all the dealerships that did not contribute to the Won’s campaign but were guilty of supporting Republican politicians. All the guilty were informed that they would be losing their dealerships, well, dealerships are where the substandard crap had to be sold from. A friend of my father who had been a Chrysler dealer for about 40 years, who had just invested a million dollars to upgrade the shop and the showroom, was shut down. His crime? Republican donor.
This is all true. This was all reported (not in the NYT or anywhere else), made the news “cycle” for a day on talk radio and Fox News and was safely shuttled down the rabbit hole.
it reminds me of the “Matrix”. Nothing is real. And, no one cares. They are asleep.
Obama is worse than any mafia don from any major city. His crimes make their bootlegging, prostitution and gambling look like children’s games.
I never thought I would see an administration worse than Kennedy’s or Carter’s for sheer avarice and thievery would ever happen.
Well, one can always be wrong. The joy of being human. One can always be wrong and unless it is a crime, no harm done.
The left, the media, and the democrats (but I repeat myself) all hate this country and love the bearded savages who want to destroy it. They lie, cheat and steal to protect each other.
