I started a WordPress Blog a few months ago and basically don't know what I'm doing. I can write, but am IT-challenged. Since I began the blog, I have not had one, repeat one, response. My stats indicate that I am getting "hits," but not one person has commented on my essays. I know I'm not Charles Krauthammer but I can't believe I have not had a single response. I can't help but think my settings or something need adjusted. Please advise. Thank you.
Agreed. What you want to do is target sites where like-minded folks hang out and promote your blog there in accordance with the local culture's norms. Here, they want everything posted with no excerpting. Some other places may vehemently object to long detailed posts cluttering things up, but be tolerant of short snippets.
Follow the site owner's rules, not yielding to the self-appointed spam police amongst the other users. If they are not moderators, f*** them. You're talking to other people who might be very interested in what you have to say.
Really? Even if they are relaying the wishes of the owner?
So it's fine to go to a restaurant, drop trou and take a dump on the floor because the manager didn't tell you not to?
There are times and places where listening to your peers and fellow users is a real good thing.
Normal people know this.
Man, that’s as often as I get inspired. Like sex, once a month if I’m real lucky. It has to be perfect to me before I post it. I have dozens of essays on my hard drive that I just don’t consider for public consumption. Quality trumps quantity. I’d rather have four essays that I’m truly proud of than hundreds of half-assed ones.
Not a good analogy. Defecating on the floor is frowned upon in all establishments.
But here at FR, and at every other site I’ve spent time, there is a certain contingent of users with no formal administrative role who consider themselves the arbiters of appropriate behavior. They are the electronic equivalent of the old HOA busybodies who patrol their neighborhoods with a golf cart and a clipboard, writing down everyone whose hedge is an inch too high. They are not enforcing the wishes of the site owner, they are enforcing their own prejudices.
Well then you should point them out and disable their golf carts.
Me, I’ll keep smacking blogpimps upside the head with my Randy Savage 2x4.
We don’t have that problem here. Our site owner has made himself perfectly clear.
I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan:
Bookmarked for great Freeper info.
(Good luck, huckfillary.)
Nah—that’s just FR’s free, crowd-sourced, editing service.
Thanks but this direction doesn’t say how to choose the correct “category” which is where I seem to go wrong.
