This is a big part of what's bothering me. Is the NBA still pretending to be family friendly? How about some moral indignation about hookers being so out in the open, no big deal? How about the thug lifestyles and partying with the ethnically-compatible entertainment elite? What about outrageous profits players have from selling $300 dollar sneakers cheaply made in China (etc) What about an economic environment where $2 billion is the price to buy in? Where players get millions of dollars a year, yet their supporters say it's like a plantation and the players are like slaves?
If I were raising a child now, right through HS, I'd support local and college basketball, but absolutely refuse to let that child go to NBA games or buy NBA products. It's time for people who care about decency to say "enough".
