Yesterday, Jani Bergdahl and Bob Bergdahl, the parents of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, were invited to the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington DC. Bob Bergdahl spoke about the release of his son Bowe. Then he praised Allah and Obama hugged him.
(VIDEO-AT-LINK)
Sgt. Bergdahl, 28, had been held prisoner by the Taliban since June 30, 2009.
The Daily Caller reported:
At the end of brief event, the soldiers father, Bob Bergdahl, recited the most frequent phrase in the Koran Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim which means In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate.
After Bergdahl finished his statement and his praise for Allah, Obama hugged him.
Then Bob Bergdahl went and deleted this tweet where he wrote God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen!
UPDATE: On Sunday Bob Bergdahl said he was proud of how his son Bowe was willing to help the Afghan people.
But most of all, Im proud of how much you wanted to help the Afghan people, and what you were willing to do to go to that length, Bob Bergdahl said, fighting back tears during a press conference in Boise. Ill say it again: Im so proud of how far you were willing to go to help the Afghan people. And I think you have succeeded.
Parents Bob and Jani Bergdahl didnt elaborate on what that meant.
Thats just bizarre
Listen to Obama about the cultural richness and what we can learn from other cultures, especially islam. If it were up to Obama, we would have more muslims, more gays and no functioning armed forces.
Context?
The only context I need is to know if then Pvt Bergdahl abandoned his post or not.
My dad was a POW. He surrendered to the Germans during the Ardennes offensive, when they literally had the drop on him and his sleeping comrades, as he tried to make his way back to American lines after his unit was smashed in the first days fighting.
If Bowe Bergdahl walked away from his post to “find himself”, talk to the Taliban or make his way to China, depending on what story you believe, he doesn’t deserve to be ranked in the same category as my father or others who became POWs against their will, while doing their duty instead of shirking or disregarding it.
Bergdahl Sr. at the very least seems to attempting to warp that reality, perhaps by embracing some sort of moral equivalency.
Personally I do not, but that is beside the point, as it appears the WH does. They did fire General McChrystal over comments made to that magazine, you may recall.
As to learning to speak Pashtu, the salient point is when that occurred.
There is far more to this then we are being told, but right now, I believe the guy was a deserter, and not worthy of the trade made.
Islam has a history of converting people through traumatization.
It’s a curious thing that Islam can brutalize people, but the people brutalized can honestly believe Islam is the most gentlest of all religions.
One phone call and Tahmooressi would be released. That is all it would take.
“Islam has a history of converting people through traumatization.”
I kind of suspect that has happened, here. I hope he can be de-traumatized.
” I believe the guy was a deserter, and not worthy of the trade made. “
I don’t deny this is possible, although I hate to believe it and hope otherwise.
My desire tonight has been to urge that FR not rush to judgment. I know he has good family. I’ll leave it at that, and say goodnight.
MAY THE TRUTH COME OUT. May God have mercy upon us all. I am very grateful for Bowe’s release, and would like as a final point to say that he was RELEASED today, which would not indicate that he joined the Taliban voluntarily, would it?
>>>"I did not pick up on any American Taliban vibe..."<<<
Seriously?
Released?
Bowe joined the US Army, apparently found it not to his liking, and “released” himself from duty.
Once he got captured by the local Islamic militants, he probably found out that the guys he was now bunking with weren’t as hunky dory as he’d hoped. I bet he even tried to escape.
Why he is almost alone in surviving captivity at the hands of the Jihadis is a matter of some curiosity. Others who have been taken by them ended up dead, sometimes after being in a propaganda video, sometimes dying horribly while the cameras roll.
Released? That, in itself, raises some troubling questions.
I’m glad he didn’t end up screaming out his life while they cut off his head for the cameras, but what did he do or say that made him different than all those other poor souls, or was he just lucky?
Lots of circumstances, exceptions and coincidences have to be swallowed to avoid smelling something rotten here.
Best to just have a nice cuppa shutup, there, dad.
Where was Bergdahl taken? How did Bergdahl Sr. know to learn Pashto? Dari is spoken in the North and West parts of Afghanistan.
Any truth to the rumor that Obama was upset because the Taliban would ONLY take 5 terrorists from Gitmo?
Messing him up.
Kind of like the six guys killed looking for this POS were messed up?
Your twisted defense of this deserter and most likely traitor is getting old.
We do not care about the motives of the beast about to eat us. We will kill it merely.
And when the son was returned, they STILL spoke German, and wore a Stormtrooper helmet.
And the son "forgets" English and can only speak German?
What would a reasonable person conclude from THAT?
he has called Mexico because they wont take any Gitmo prisoners.
I’ve just read up on what other US POWs received while captives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The details are nauseating. The blanket statement of torture and death masks the horror of what befell them.
Meanwhile, Bowe Bergdahl quits his post and teaches his “captors” to play badminton.
If Bergdahl gets the hero treatment, even if just in his hometown, it’s a slap in the face to everyone who has worn the uniform with honor, and spitting in the eye of every POW.
The Army is too embarrassed by what has happened to call a halt to this madness. Remember how they played the death of Pat Tillman?
This is much, much worse.
Oops! Obama has not called Mexico because they will not take any Gitmo prisoners.
No, it isn't just you. The guy looked like a fruitcake.
