Practical or patronizing?
South Korea is spending mega-money on creating larger car parking spaces for women.
Capital city Seoul is introducing "lady-friendly" spots reserved exclusively for female drivers, the Korea Times reports.
Wider and longer than regular spots, they will be closer to elevators and marked out with pink mini-skirted logos.
It's not yet known, however, if men will be fined if busted for using them.
Korea Times reports the initiative is part of a nearly $700 million push to make the metropolis more female-friendly over four years.
Other projects include installing 7,000 new women-only toilets, and the resurfacing of some sidewalks with a squishy material to help those wearing high heels.
"It is like adding a female touch to a universal design and make things more comfortable for women," Assistant Mayor for Women and Family Affairs Cho Eun-hee told the Korea Times.
Who doesn’t like watching ladies in miniskirts???
What bothers me are the stupid electric charging stations right up front of gigantic chain stores. I don’t think I have ever seen a car parked in one of those things. I would think where I live the town folk would show up at the house of the owner with pitch forks. That would be one patronizing smug SOB in the land of 6 month winters and 4x4 pickups.
It gets worse
Next time you board a commercial plane and the lady pilot is grinning at you as you enter from the jetway make sure it ain’t the reaper staring back
Their crash rate is 400% higher than male pilots.
I saw some in Chattanooga the other day....first time I have ever seen cars charging
Lol....they were TVA cars....
Chattanooga is TVA HQ
My first commercial female pilot...
I was flying Delta out of Montgomery, AL about 15 years ago. The USAF Thunderbirds had put on a show the previous day and had been hangared overnight at the airport, which was an ANG base, rather than Maxwell AFB.
Our DC-9 taxied to the end of the runway immediately behind their F-16s. The pilot came on the intercom and advised us who we were following and that passengers on the right side of the plane would get to see them take off.
She continued a running commentary about the Thunderbirds and flight show aerobatics until the last T-bird started rolling...
Then, she shoved the throttles forward and virtually sprinted onto the runway, made an aggressive pivot and shoved the throttles to the wall...announcing that, after seeing the USAF Thunderbirds take off, we would be launched into the air ourselves by a past member of the United States Marine Corps Flying Leathernecks!
And away we went...
Really, I like Beep Beep, it's a good one.
Even still, SNSD is awesome!
We had to be able to parallel park in order to get our driver’s license. Plus I grew up on a farm and you learned to back a truck or tractor with a trailer attached long before you were old enough to get a driver’s license. Kids today may know a lot about technology but they don’t seem to be taught how to do anything practical and useful.
Girls' Generation is kind of the ultimate anti-Miley Cyrus - nine beautiful, sweet angels with no bad habits and a great work ethic. FReeper parents who are worried about the corrosive effects of American musical culture on their daughters (sons too) should introduce them to GG.
“I just think it’s time for them to leave the little girl look behind” I meant to say...and I think they agree. :)
The sexism angle is what would mskeit a fascinating social experiment to run here in the US.
You’d see all the liberals scream bloody murder over the sexism, but you’d also see the parking spots always being used by women.
I agree. The same feminists that would scream “sexism” would no doubt continue to use the parking spaces regardless. Hypocrisy on their part.
But sorry...being fortunate or unfortunate enough to be born a certain gender isn’t a qualification for preferential treatment. Except for expectant mothers with preferential parking spaces - I could accept that.
I didn’t look that closely, but I am not surprised.
What was the US “singer” that got yelled out by liberals for doing something Asian? She needed to pull out these videos.
Female only parking spaces in kind of strange though
Sunny is so cool, I heard she does musicals too
Maybe that explains S Korea’s extensive subway system
I’m voting satire.
Nope, real as rain.
I think I got diabetes watching that.
I was about to Say, they all the same Age I am and I don't think it's time for them to leave!

I couldn't have said it better myself! :)
“Women have less ability to judge distances. “
But we have an uncanny ability to judge people.
