Lies and rumors about Congressman Eric Cantor have been widely distributed by tea party candidate Dave Brat’s supporters. As we near the June 10 primary for the 7th Congressional District, it’s time to set the record straight. Here’s the truth from Brian Schoeneman in response to 20 lies about Eric Cantor that were posted in the Bearing Drift comments from a Dave Brat supporter (see Liberal professor David Brat pulls a two-face two-step by Brian Kirwin).
Lie #1: Eric Cantor made insider trading illegal for Americans, but exempted his family members.
The truth: Insider trading has been illegal for Americans since the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. When Cantor redrafted the Senate version of the STOCK Act, some provisions of the bill were moved around, included covering spouses. This was unintentional, and when it was discovered, Cantor worked with the Senate to close the loophole. The law doesn’t exempt spouses or kids now.
Lie #2: Eric Cantor as leader of the House has gone along with the democrat agenda.
The truth: No, Cantor has taken the lead in opposing the Democratic Party’s agenda. He’s seen by Democrats as one of the biggest boogiemen in Congress. They don’t praise him for supporting their issues.
Lie #3: Eric Cantor is a progressive.
The truth: By no modern definition of the word is Eric Cantor a progressive.

Gee....I sure wouldn’t expect a supporter of Cantor, with a Re-Elect Cantor Logo on her page, to provide honest and thoughtful reasoned arguments against these so-called myths about Cantor.
Actually, most of them are pitiful.

So, the genius Cantor redrafts a law but leaves a loophole for "spouses and children" we're supposed to believe it was unintentional?
The only reason it was fixed was because he got caught.

The Cantor shills have come out of the woodwork as we approach the June 10th primary. I,live in the 7th district. Cantor is a big government progressive who will support amnesty if he wins primary. He’s arrogant and out of touch. He holds fake town hall meetings. He is,owned by the K-Street lobbyists. I’m voting for his opponent - Dave Brat.
Cantor is a Golden Boy of the DC Imperium on the Potomac. Like any GOPe, he talks out both sides of his mouth on conservative issues.
Lib talking money grubber to the K Street banditos and “Pat Buchanan virtue” to the folks back home he is defrauding.
The thinking no longer care about his background, law pedigree or even his love of small animals.
He was sent to DC to hack it root and branch and sow the ground with salt.
He has not done so.

The struggle is important. Cantor is at best irrelevant to that struggle, at worst one whom we must struggle against.
That is one bunch of wasted pixels...pure propaganda, I was expecting better. This sort of confirms to me that my original impression of this man was spot in. He is a progressive leaning moderate. My money, my vote...go elsewhere.
