In an odd play on words, the DNC called GOP policies those of "mad men," after referencing the finale of MadMen.
The meme, which the DNC released on the 25th, and then again on the 26th, states that "MadMen is going away until next year, but the GOP's mad men policies remain:"
Initially, the pun appears to call Republicans characters of the show. However, it does not. First, the words MadMen in the post has no space when the Democrats are referring to the show, but has one when referring to Republicans.
Second, the word "Mad" is highlighted in red in the first part of the sentence. In the last part of the sentence, the GOP is highlighted in red. Get it? The GOP is mad. How extremely hilarious of the Democrats!

Many of the characters in Mad Men are Democrats. RFK voting, Barry Goldwater bashing Democrats.
They obviously didn’t watch the final episode, and saw how Don treated Peggy.
And the ending with Cooper........was just great.
One of the characters in Mad Men shacked up with a Marxist revolutionary until he ditched her (after she accidentally stabbed him) when he realized she wasn’t down with the struggle.
No tv spawned insult ever fed a starving child!
IMHO, it’s the best show ever....I know their ratings are down, but if you stick with it, it’s worth it. Now I have to wait another year, no thanks to AMC.
The Don character is akin to the prodigal son who fell and has redeemed himself.
.......and the show “House of Cards” is a correct representation of democrats.
In Season One, Bert Cooper recommended “Atlas Shrugged” to Don.
There are bits and pieces of “conservativism” or “libertarianism” among the “old guard” at the company, but the new and newer blood all go for Democrats (or GOPe Republicans like the Rockefeller Republican husband of Don’s ex-wife).
This is just out today, right?
If so, people are really missing the point. There’s a big Lib/Dem campaign rolling out to exploit the misogyny of that Cali gunman. This looks to be a direct tie out to it, to create a perceived linkage between him and Republicans. No one will really pay attention to whether it really aligns with the series: the goal is to link “mad men”, “ anti women” and “Republican” together in the wake of those Hollywood murders.
Very, very nasty stuff.
