Was there any reason to not sell him the guns at the time?

The government has enough bullets to shoot each American more than 8 times and they bad mouth the NRA?

...didn’t California just pass a bunch of gun laws to prevent stuff like this from happening?

This will go no where.
Any one with 1/2 a brain knows the kid was a lunatic and his father and mother are the root cause.
The father is a total moron and will not accept the fact his F’ed up son is a frigen mas-murderer.
We will see this AH out there with hoodies F’ed up mom displaying their denial about they fact they had screwed up off spring. He better hope to hell he wasn’t involved in the purchase of the weapon although I hope he was.

Frankenstein doesn’t waste any time does she. How about the fact that the kid was a complete nut case, has about 10 billion photos of himself on Facebook, a complete over the top narcissist which to me is a clear sign that hmm....You know what, maybe somethings not quite right with this kid.

It’s ANOTHER case where they KNEW he had mental issues, and once again what was done about it? NOTHING! Once again it’s all the fault of the NRA even though he also killed with a knife and his car.

Hey Diane Frankenstein: F U

I think that that BMW and the manufacture of the knife needs to be held accountable. Who sold him (or purchased for him) that car? Who sold him that knife? Did they do a background check? Was there a 10 day waiting period?

“Unfortunately the NRA continues to have a stranglehold on Congress, preventing even commonsense measures like universal background checks that have overwhelming support. Americans need to rise up and say enough is enough. Until that happens, we will continue to see these devastating attacks. Shame on us for allowing this to continue.”

Shame on you Senator Feinstein on trying to manipulate a sad situation for political purposes. Isn’t it amazing the same people who want all of these stringent background checks on people purchasing guns are the same ones who decry implementing voter ID laws.

The real blame here lies with the cops (not excusing the perp, of course).

In this instance they actually met and talked with the perp due to some of the crazy crapola he had posted. They knew he was nuts and making threats. And then he posted the crazy video a whole day before the rampage. How's that? I viewed the video. It clearly constitutes the crime of criminal threats in California.

In general, these events are mostly caused by seriously deranged people, most of whom were known. The guy who shot the Congresswoman Gifford in AZ,for example, was worshipping a skull in his parents' backyard. C'mon.

There's no disagreement that a guy like this who is known to have made credible threats not only should not have had a gun but should have been under 72 hour (at least) observation after he posted his initial "manifesto" and plan online a year ago. Maybe even charges could have been filed at that time and he would at least have been on probation - maybe even ankle monitor, by now

Libtards are again making a straw man argument. They want to use this case to take away my gun. But nobody in their right mind would disagree that a guy who's obviously gone around the bend like the UCSB shooter should be stripped of his 2nd Amendment rights.

The cops really dropped the ball on this one. So much for "to serve and to protect." Those victims and their families and the public at large can't be feeling real protected right now. Indeed, he clearly should have been in the criminal justice system - maybe in mental health court or something - for over a year now.

I hope that at least somebody in the media will hold the cops' feet to the fire on this one and demand an explanation why the shooter wasn't picked up for the crime of criminal threats (I'm a CA criminal defense lawyer - as I said the stuff he posted the day before the shooting was clearly - I mean beyond the shadow of a doubt - constituted the crime of terrorist threats). In fact, given the detail and the background, the DA probably could have pressed a felony conviction and given him a year in jail to cool his heels. There's absolutely no excuse why this moron wasn't in custody awaiting arraignment first court day next Tuesday.

From msn.com “New clues about Elliot Rodger, 22, the man accused of the deadly Calif. shootings, reveal how he apparently grew to resent women & developed a desire to ‘punish’ them.”

Sounds just like an NRA supporter to me./s

Feinstein is evil and corrupt.

The old lady has long ago outlived her usefulness, if she EVER had any.

People like her poison public service, IMHO.

No, Diane, you dumb, little troll.

The NRA had nothing to do with this. Guns had nothing to do with this. My guns had nothing to do with this. I had nothing to do with this.

The young man who did this is responsible this, and if ANYONE ELSE IS THE MAN WHO MADE HIM AND RAISED HIM IS.

SO I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD STOP ATTACKING MY CIVIL RIGHTS, ANY ORGANIZATION THAT STANDS IN FAVOR OF MY CIVIL RIGHTS, AND STUFF YOUR GUN CONTROL AGENDA AND **** OFF JUST AS YOU CAN, madame.

Ghouls like the old hag Feinstein rub their hands with glee when something like this happens.

She doesn’t bother to mention that the little psycho purchased his guns legally under both California and U.S. law, so her useless “universal background checks” would not have stopped him from purchasing these weapons.

She also doesn’t mention that half the victims were killed with knives, and the fact that the little psycho tried to kill additional people by running them over with the BMW that his liberal daddy bought for him.

California already has all those laws and more. If a man bent on killing people wants a gun, he can get it in any state in the Union.

Feinstein wants to prevent normal law abiding citizens from getting guns. Btw, every weekend in Los Angeles there are 3 to 6 people gunned down under similar circumstances and it doesn't even make the local news. That's because reporting black on black or Hispanic on Hispanic crimes does not fit the narrative.

Let’s not blame the parents who raised him or the schools that taught him, the physicians who failed to catch his mental illness or for God sakes the psycho himself who committed the acts. I see they haven’t drug out the video game yet, nor are they vilifying cars or knives, just go back to the liberals bogeymen, the NRA. Second Amendment and guns!
