Jail mug shot of Gregory Walter (Gregg) Jarrett. (Hennepin County jail)
Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett, said by the network to be on leave to address serious personal issues, has been charged with a misdemeanor after his arrest in a Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport bar, where he was very intoxicated and combative toward officers.
Jarrett, 59, is charged in Hennepin County District Court with a misdemeanor, obstructing the legal process and interfering with a police officer. His arraignment is scheduled in an Edina courtroom June 6.
The weekend co-anchor on the Fox News Channel was arrested about 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at Northern Lights Grill in the main terminal, said airport spokesman Patrick Hogan.
Jarrett was in Minnesota for alcohol or chemical dependency treatment, according to a detailed police accounting of the incident.
An employee called police to say Jarrett appeared to be acting very intoxicated, according to an Airport Police Department report released Thursday.
Officers responded and found Jarrett to be uncooperative, resistant and combative during his arrest, according to the report. It did not disclose whether he had his blood-alcohol level measured by police.
Jarrett, who calls the New York City suburb of Larchmont home, posted $300 bond and was released from custody shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to jail records. His jail mug shot shows him with a full salt-and-pepper beard, a different look than the typically close-shaven appearance that viewers were used to seeing.
Jarrett has yet to respond to telephone and e-mail messages seeking comment about his arrest....

Ah too true. I got it handled have been famous last words for all too many. The idea that an alcoholic can have one ‘last drunk’ turns out to be all too true
I really liked him...I feel sorry for him..he’s got a rough road ahead.I wish him the best. Its hard enough to deal with personal issues, let alone have the public humiliation.
Anyone know the root of the problem ?
Isn’t it amazing that the hair on his head is so dark, but his beard is so gray!!
If a person is in treatment it difficult for their employer to “fire” them.
More than likely they would be terminated for not seeking treatment. As far as FOX goes Bob Beckel has support from all and talks about his addiction openly. I’m sure he’d be a good sponcer for Gregg
I see Media Matters has always hammered on him.
The latest mm attack was for comments he made on that baseball player (Daniel Murphy, Mets) that took paternity leave when his son was born.
not really, lol.
Since he's charged with a misdemeanor, I don't think he'll lose his license....but the charge and attendant publicity is not going to do his career any good, that's fer shure.

E. D. Hill, who was a Fox anchor a long time ago, came out a while back and revealed that she had been an alcoholic for a long time and managed to conceal it. When she made that admission she had stopped drinking.
It was probably Hazelden which has several facilities in the Twin Cities area. It’s not a celebrity place, though many celebrities have gone there, along with ordinary people.
When I see a news story about a Jarrett being arrested, I want it to be about Valerie Jarrett.
I thought that was Laurie Dhu not E. D.
I thought it was Hill but I guess I got the cases confused—my apologies to E. D. Hill.
Exactly. Looks like it was after he completed the program however. Immediate consequence. Hope he takes this to heart and applies the principles he learned in treatment like one day at a time, one hour at a time without a drink, meetings, sponsor etc.
My first wife frequently complained about a clerk in her office coming in late, leaving early, taking long lunches and not working very hard. I kept telling her to fire the woman, but she didn’t. So by the time they got around to it the clerk told them she had cancer. Well, you can’t fire her now or it’ll look like retribution.
Never really cared for Jarrett. Thought he was a bit condescending to guests.
Maybe he’s just a human being with a problem.
All mine has gone grey.I’m just thankful I still have hair.I look like my kids grandfather these days.
There are several very exclusive, and very private rehab places in the Twin Cities area..
