Sarasota has a large Amish community. (I’m pretty sure they’re Amish, but they’re allowed to drive. They dress the same, have the beards, etc. They own a large number of businesses.) I was with my realtor looking to buy this Amish man’s house. As we’re talking I hear an incredible rumble in the distance of an engine with no exhaust. As the rumble got louder and closer the man’s expression got darker and darker and it was as if he’d pulled his head into his body. Then, the rumble turned into the driveway. It was a VERY Amish looking young man with a purple Camaro sporting a high-stack and supercharger and straight pipes. He came in and right past the man and they ignored each other SO hard that even I felt the rebuke. My realtor hastily said, “Well, we’ve got to go. Thank you!” and he hustled me out and away.
Nearly $4 along highways through remote areas on the Rockies. $4.599 at one station.
A couple of months ago it briefly dropped to $2.90 a gallon here in central Tennessee.
There is an upside to high gas prices.
It limits the driving activities of poor people, reducing congestion.
At least until the regime decides to start issuing “gas stamps”
It is so obvious Obama/Biden are rewarding their buddies in the oil industry.
I’m still waiting for the hypocritical Dummycrats to get all kinds of committees going to find out how this could happen.
$1.80 when Bush was in office
$3.89 when Valerie Jarrett’s in office
What gives? Where’s the committees, the outrage, the obscene profits bellowing, . . . . ?
Funny, in the last year I’ve heard as much about High Gas Prices as I have Military Deaths in Afghanistan.
I wonder why that is?
BTW - Gas Prices in S. CA have been around $4.00 a Gallon for Months.
My truck gets pretty poor mileage, so I got a low miles Honda S2000 which, driven normally, gets 30 mpg. It’s an economy move I told Mrs. Slim. ;)
NOT TO WORRY SUBJECTS!!! Obama has declared that all new cars shall double the mileage they currently have. By a wave of his magic scepter this shall be done.
So what? Millions of people are happy to pay these high gas prices. They’re buying gas, aren’t they? Just like those 8.5 million people who are happy with Obamacare.
“Under my plan, energy costs will necessarily skyrocket.”
- Barack Hussein Obama
The 19th Amendment strikes again in Red Hampshire, as Democrat Governor Maggie Hassan signs a bill raising our gas taxes four cents a gallon. Don’t worry, though...it’s for a good cause.
Remember how bh0 made such a campaign issue about how HIGH gas prices had risen under G.W. Bush? And how he promised to do ‘everything necessary’ to get them lowered. Another promise that expired 10 seconds after it left his mouth.
