From a political as well as religious perspective being a separate people is making more and more sense. The freestaters are trying to do exactly that in NH.

I really liked your take on Joshua. I like to bring up Lot from time to time. Here Lot is in the San Francisco of his time. Although probably even worse At a certain point, Lot had to make the choice to follow God and leave the denizens of Sodom and Gomorrah to their fate.

I find such hope in both Joshua and of that Lot/Abraham story and Abraham’s petition on behalf of Lot’s domicile area. There are so many promises from the Lord.
I think we should be as lawyers or court advocates before the Lord, as was Abraham. When the Lord gives a promise, we are allowed to ask for it to be acted on, and furthermore to ask for its expansion to cover more than what the Lord initially agreed to. He is pleased to give as much as he can without compromising his justice. At that point, the line is drawn. However, Abraham did a deft job of expanding that initial promise, and we can have recourse to it to this day.
I seek daily to petition our Lord for the saving of America, as I know many here do also. It is hard to see sometimes how she can possibly be saved, given the offenses for which we as a nation are accountable. But I petition the Lord that the cradle of freedom not perish from the earth, that his kingdom be establish according to his highest wishes. Remember, he takes into account the choices of his people....if some, that “righteous 10” do uphold his law and make the petitions, who knows what could be granted? We are told that the prayers of “a righteous man availeth much.” And I take that as another promise!
Don't you think a lot of this is a result of cruise control? People want to keep a consistent speed and can't do so in the regular lane.
