I suspect we do agree on many things and activists make me angry but this kid just made me sad. I certainly don’t condone his actions in trying to harm the Pastor but the kid struck out as any angry child does as he’s not be taught self-control or any truth. As others have pointed out there may even be demonic forces too.
I’ll just say this, and then leave it alone, because I don’t want to say anything that will offend you;
I’m sorry you’re saddened by it. To me, it’s just symbolic of the RAGE that the other side has, and I just picture thousands of lunatics like that - some of them grown to adulthood, and now sitting in Law-making, Law-enforcing, and legislative, and judicial capacity.
I’m old fashioned and immature, I guess, because I still believe in “Live and Let Live” - I don’t put my hands on you, you don’t lay hands on me, and we go our own ways happy and peaceable-like.
I still believe in “Hey, I may disagree with what you say, but I’ll defend your right to say it.”
I still believe in making an EFFORT to get along with people, even if I don’t particularly agree with them - right up until the point they are in my face and want to throw down.
But where we are, right now, is NOT the result of my - or your - doing.
It’s entirely at the feet of the other side. And I have zero respect, compassion, sympathy, empathy, or time to feel saddened or bad for them, when they get their just due.
You can say a prayer for the kid, if that makes it better. I hope he DOES turn around and become a sane human being.
But the larger picture is this - that rage and his behavior is what he’s been taught, by people with even MORE murderous rage and lot more cunning. And they’re cranking out many, many more just like him on a daily basis.
Demonic? Yeah, probably. Maybe. I don’t know. But what I do know is this - NO ONE has the right to lay hands on another person because of expressing their Free Speech, or the criminalization of it. And if they do, they SHOULD get their butt kicked.
That goes for both sides.
