Watch Bundy explain how we need to keep things from going backwards for blacks, and how the Federal government has created a neo-slave class via entitlement dependency that is so bad it is arguably worse than plantation slavery was.
It is 100% clear that Cliven Bundy is not saying that blacks should be slaves picking cotton, but that the Federal government has created conditions for them so terrible, that their current situation may actually be worse. (If you are person of low intelligence, the fact that that is his point might be too hard for you to understand.) And hes not blaming blacks for the issues of abortions, and crime and broken families, hes blaming the Feds.

And Rand Paul! Idiots. Just like when the Zimmerman thing broke.
I’m beginning to think that this is the way things are supposed to be. I sometimes wonder “how would people accept the AntiChrist? How would they fall for that s—t?” Then I look and see what people are currently believing (or not believing), and I resign myself to the fact that WE DON’T WIN oN THIS EARTH. Some of us win after we leave this planet. I guess our job is to hold off the inevitable as long as we can.
“Personally I don’t think “the Negro” is suffering because they didn’t learn to pick cotton and might have been better off as slaves. That’s a pretty dumb thing to say, no matter what broader point Bundy was attempting to make.”
I don’t know if Bundy intended it this way but I took “picking cotton” as a metaphor for work in general, not as literally dragging a sack down the rows. Am I giving him to much credit here?
Poor candidate though he was, Romney won Missouri 53.9% to 44.3%. He crushed Obama. Romney lost nationally by about 4%, which was not some insurmountable amount had he run a better campaign - despite his glaring flaws. He at least had a chance.
Akin managed to LOSE to perhaps THE most vulnerable Senate candidate, Claire McCaskill by 54.7% to 39.2%. Akin couldn’t even get 40% of the vote and ended up losing by 15 points to a terribly weak incumbent in what has become a red state
This is the reason Democrats funneled money to Akin’s primary campaign. He didn’t lose because conservatives listened to idiots, Akin lost because he WAS an idiot.
You're right of course. This country was formed on the principles of freedom of speech, of liberty to say what we believe without persecution unless there's a camera and unless those in government don't like what you say.
He lost because a bunch of cowards ran around screaming the sky is falling. His polls were fine until the GOP hit squad hit the talk shows to condemn him as the antichrist and people bought it. Yeas of conservative voting tanked and for what.
Meanwhile the very same people so freaked over one dumb comment went dutifully to the polls and voted for a jackass that gave his own cash to have babies murdered in Planned Barrenhood.
Yea...the stupid comment was far worse.
Who knows, I couldn't say for sure. We can only go by his words, and the babbling about "the Negro" and his wondering about the possibility that they might be better off as slaves doesn't put any of his comments in a particularly good light. Talking about observing "the Negro's" sitting on their porch isn't the best imagery either.
Like I said, I suspect he isn't some kind of hater. Some of his comments about Hispanics (another area he should have just kept his mouth shut about) make it clear he's probably fairly compassionate in his own way. He's from a different generation, probably doesn't come into contact with many black people and isn't used to the spotlight and probably should have stuck to the land issues instead of wandering off into his thoughts on race. The problem is his words sound pretty racist whether he meant them to or not. When a person says these kinds of things the words become the focal point of the debate instead of what it was initially.
He is a product of his generation. There are a lot of people like him who are numbered among "We the People."
Your parents probably said the same things.
Many of the Founders who wrote "WE THE PEOPLE" into the Constitution actually owned slaves. Many of them treated their slaves better than white Northerners treated Free Black men. Northern Free Blacks were free to starve to death or work in dangerous professions at minimal pay in work conditions much worse than that found on Southern plantations.
Exactly. And the fact that he is NOT a hayseed makes me extremely suspicious, because he did nothing less than hand the MSM a golden opportunity to spin their absolutely favorite slander against the Right.
How on earth could he possibly think they wouldn't do exactly what they're doing with his words?
The Left has their new “Emmanuel Goldstein”.
Time for the “Two Minutes Hate.”
You're still railing against Bundy? You've been doing this all day as if you have some driving motive.
I dont think Bundy is probably much of a hater. Hes from another generation and maybe just hasnt updated his vocabulary.
He might not be much of a hater??
A hater?????
I'm just glad others are able to see your comments for what they are.
Does this imply he could possibly be a hater?
Is this the seed? Is this the implication? The coded comment often used by race industry leftist?
Just wow..
From what he said, I don’t think he’s a racist at all, but as an older gentleman he used words that are widely considered outdated. Also, in saying some might better off as slaves, that’s simply asking for trouble. He’s giving commentary on the situation in the black community, and I think his underlying premise has truth, but it’s so filled with clearly dated terms and bad comparisons, it was just plain stupid. Someone in his family needed to cut off that interview asap as soon as it went sideways.
I was raised in the south...the elder folks speak this way. Paula Deen, case in point. What he said is probably what the rest of us want to. Having said that, he doesn’t have the “gift of gab” in our current culture.
Lots of folks here keep saying he should have kept his mouth shut or his “handlers” should have tempered his remarks. “We” don’t have that kind of power over our hard working older crew. They have the right to say what they want regardless of making an “ass” of themselves or exposing themselves as “bigots”.
My southern elder folk will and do speak their mind with conviction and make no apology. I respect that.
Also, I believe Bundy was trying to make a point but it was lost in the clumsy translation...these folks on the government dole are no different than “slaves”.
Many here have articulated these thoughts. And, yes,I am including “everyone” else as slaves on the dole.
I am really tiring of the term “hater”.
Just done with it. There, I said it.
Just a thought...
We really need a thread on the “new age” terms we would like to do away with. Such as “hater”, etc.
He is a Hayseed and he doesn’t really care about what anyone thinks. This is exactly why he has no problem speaking his mind with or without a camera/mic.
As it should be. Respect it or not...it’s his RIGHT.
Ask the low-information left-wing insulting bloggers to define their terms, such as “hater”, “racist”, “fascist”, or “teabagger”. Usually they won’t respond. If they do, it won’t be a dictionary definition, or it won’t apply to small-govt. conservatives.
Doesn’t “racist” mean treating people differently due to their race? Which party believes in that?
