Following a weeklong confrontation between protestors and police from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), events at the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada came to an abrupt end on Saturday, April 11, when the BLM suddenly threw in the towel and left. Speaking to a local TV news program Monday, Nevada Senator and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, “This isn’t over…” And he is certainly correct. The showdown between BLM and Cliven Bundy – the last rancher in Clark County, Nevada – was but the latest battle in a long-running conflict, and it is sure to continue. Too much is at stake.
Supposedly at issue was the desert tortoise, a reptile on the endangered species list which could not coexist on the land with Bundy’s cattle. But why would the turtle suddenly be threatened by animals it had cohabited with for the 100 plus years the Bundy ranch has been in operation?
A BLM document unearthed last week discusses mitigation strategies for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone. Dry Lake is just southwest of the Bundy ranch. The “mitigation strategy” proposed to use the grazing lands near the Bundy ranch as a kind of sanctuary for the desert tortoise, because the entire region is slated for a large number of solar, wind and geothermal energy generation facilities. The solar projects especially will obliterate most of the turtle’s natural habitat.

It would not hurt. I expect to see an act of treachery from the Government, I just don’t know where it will be.

I think they are mostly running on greed. None of them care who they hurt to get more money. That is why average Americans are in great danger. These people will lie and ruin anyone who gets in their way. They have the courts in their back pockets too.

If things had gone the way the Government had planned, neither he nor his family would be alive now. Even now the Governmental plants and moles both on and off this forum are demonizing him 24/7, softening him up so that the sheep will shrug their shoulders, say, “He was a kook and crook and got what he deserved” , go back to watching American Idol, and think, So long as my EBT card is full and my Obama phone is charged, life is good.
I don’t think so. Stewart Rhoades was still out at the ranch as of yesterday I think. He did an interview with a couple of militia members. I believe he commented that they are going to work up a rotation so militia can come and then go back home but keep the Bundy’s protected at all times until this is resolved.
I am VERY disappointed with FNC. This is just more evidence of the NYC disease infesting all of the news media.

In short, this attempted seizure of land was to effectively use it for a gigantic solar farm. And Bundy was not properly compsenated for this.
