Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), a former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has apparently had enough of what he sees as the pro-amnesty mentality at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
In response to a panel which includes four proponents of comprehensive immigration reform and one critic, Smith ripped the American Conservative Union, which hosts CPAC, in a press release.
You have to wonder when a self-described conservative organization stacks an immigration panel with amnesty advocates, Smith accused. For the second year in a row, CPAC has featured a panel where all but one speaker supports the agenda of liberal Democrats and the liberal national media. Truth-in-advertising would require CPAC to drop the word conservative.

I understand Rubio never mentioned it.

Is it safe to assume the “/s” stands for “sarcasm off” ?

Yup. That was pure sarcasm.

My first impression was to open up with both barrels at the same time and then quickly reload for round two.
But I'm just not up to par tonight.

That’s my reaction every time I see a “conservative’ (yea sure they are) say one, the other or both.
There are more idiots on the right than I fear we can withstand. And they are apparently hellbent on voting for anyone with an R attached no matter how much damage they do to America. Not a week passes that several don’t pop up saying those very things.
And boy do they scream. Hit dog howls.

Most of the public coming out of today's public schools can't read, write (cursive), add, subtract, multiply or divide.
But they can put a condom on a cucumber, spout global warming crap, and don't understand the "give back" nonsense that turns them into slaves.
There's so much wrong with today's United States.
If today's school kids were transported back to the start of this country, they'd be lost in school, never get to the 8th grade, and they'd starve, if the Indians didn't kill them first.

Without specifics, discussion quickly becomes two emotional monologues instead of a reasoned dialogue.
Well said.

We can call them “low information conservatives”. There had to be many of them at CPAC to give Christie a standing O.
