The Obama administration is smarting over having egg on its face after the US Senate failed to confirm the nomination of Debo Adegbile for the head of the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. In a stunning defeat after Harry Reid changed the rules were a nomination could now pass on a simple majority, the final tally was 47-52 against Adegbile. Democrats even brought in Joe Biden to cast the tiebreaking vote in order to confirm the nomination. However, seven Democrats (most likely looking at the upcoming midterm elections) split and voted against the nomination.
When Obama nominated Debo Adegbile for the post, it immediately raised an uproar from the law enforcement community. Adegbile worked tirelessly on behalf of convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, who killed Daniel Faulkner in 1981 in front of four witnesses and later bragged about the murder. Adegbile worked on behalf of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund who used the same old tired racial rhetoric to get the conviction overturned. Many critics of Adegbile believe the he took the defense of Abu-Jamal not on legal defense grounds, but rather to foster and promote a political cause.
Even more disgraceful is that Faulkner's widow, Maureen Faulkner, was not allowed to testify before Congress about the nomination of Debo Adegbile. This is a sickening aspect of how liberals think and act. A murderous cop killer is celebrated and documentaries are made about him, but the murdered cop and his family are treated like garbage and silenced. Maureen Faulkner showed tremendous courage and dedication and personally reached out and contacted many senators to express her disapproval of the nomination.
Obama made this nomination through the lens of his own twisted ideology. This was a direct thumb in the eye to law enforcement. When news of the failed nomination reached the White House, Obama had a hissy fit and released a statement that was more befitting a teenage girl angry over how Twilight ended as opposed to being the president of the United States. Obama said, "The fact that his nomination was defeated solely based on his legal representation of a defendant runs contrary to a fundamental principle of our system of justice -- and those who voted against his nomination denied the American people an outstanding public servant."
The American people were not denied an outstanding public servant. They were saved from yet another far left nutjob who views the law and justice only through a liberal race-based lens where murderers are victims and the true victims are deserving of their fate.
In the opinion of his fellow domestic marxists, the foreigner has finally gone too far.
Negative slope is the reality of the remainder of the CPUSA plant's term in office.
I really don’t understand the intense attraction the left has for Mumia Abu-Jimal. I really don’t. What’s their handle on this guy? He just flat executed a defenseless, injured cop. No question about that. It’s not that he might have been wrongfully convicted. It’s not that the cop deserved it in some way... So what is it? Why the sainthood for this guy?
Pizza and chicken wings sounds delicious..we should combine celebrations
Hey, Obumble, he wasn't representing a guy who broke a window -- he was representing a cop killer! I know that's not a big deal to you (you probably think Officer Faulkner had it coming), but some of us still frown on that type of thing. Oh my, I am so sick of this putrid little "man".
That’s not good idea when you’re going after the police. They’re the only ones with guns in a police state.
Have the ever identified the dark skinned man who took part in he brinks robbery and murders committed by Bill Ayres friends?
It is the same idolization that happened after Trayvon Martin was killed.
The victim was light skinned and middle class. Dead person / incarcerated person is a black man, part of an aggrieved group that sees their modern day troubles as an extension of the Jim Crow laws of the 1950s and slavery of the 1850s. The dead person and the crimes the black man committed are irrelevant.
The black man is seen as the victim of a modern day lynching, and the racism in the narrative is so virulent that they won’t admit he actually did anything wrong to warrant the jailing/death.
It’s the same vein where almost no one mentions Mandela’s prior terrorist acts like putting mines in rural roads and bombings, which is WHY he was in prison for almost 30 years.
LOLMADSISSY!
Who cares, Barry, blow it out your rear.
Romney murdered someone’s wife according to a liberal Superpac. This was similar to what was done to the Officer.
Everything the white hut does is political & this one is definitely a hot potato..in this case, ideology might trump.
But, would shine spotlight on those that voted like Landrieu, Hagan etc..
My guess is after the elections..
Democrats who voted against the Obama nominee were Chris Coons (Del.),Bob Casey (Pa.), Mark Pryor (Ark.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Joe Manchin (W.V.), Joe Donnolly (Ind.) and John Walsh (Mont.).
For all you folks in North Carolina, Kay Hagan joined fellow liberal Democrats and voted to confirm Adegbile.
His record is the reason he should not get the job, not the record of the client.
No... It more than that. There’s more to it than just the ordinary black dude being railroaded by “the man”.
He’s playing his real namesake, Steve.
He can stick his pen and phone where the sun don’t shine.

**Only reason I can think why her & Miss Piggy voted is they know they’re going down in flames, lame ducks. Reid knows this so who cares if they take tough votes. Which is hilarious because maybe they didn’t know others were going to switch at last minute & they still voted yes..idiots.
Should’ve pulled the McConnell/Cornyn rope a dope & tell the clerk to keep roll call silent.
