"One of the many pressing stories that remains to be told from the Snowden archive is how western intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online discourse with extreme tactics of deception and reputation-destruction. Its time to tell a chunk of that story, complete with the relevant documents.
Over the last several weeks, I worked with NBC News to publish a series of articles about dirty trick tactics used by GCHQs previously secret unit, JTRIG (Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group). These were based on four classified GCHQ documents presented to the NSA and the other three partners in the English-speaking Five Eyes alliance. Today, we at the Intercept are publishing another new JTRIG document, in full, entitled The Art of Deception: Training for Online Covert Operations.

I can think of one that was discovered to be a con artist with multiple AKA off FR. Very good at their chosen vocation
I first start with looking at posts by recent joins of FR.
I can always tell them by the way they react or try to redirect the investigations to a “nothing is going on, it is business as usual”.
I am convinced that the trolls on the education threads are paid operatives. I refused to engage them.

indeed, some are smarter and more subtle than others. But none of them are careful or hardworking enough to create an adequate history. But it is tedious to suspect a troll, and sit and read back through his previous posts.
Or they could just be folks who are fed up with your insulting their kids.

Mrs. JimRed frequently check online restaurant reviews when thinking about trying a new one. I, the skeptic, suspect that the glowing reviews are by the restaurant staff, management and their families, while the bad ones are by competitors’ management, staff and families. When a place is really superior and word gets out, you can’t get in when you want to, so why would I call in more diners?
