The Election of Tsar Michael I of All Russia

Note sent from Moscow Assembly of the Land To All Russian Cities In Order to Bring By It All Status and Title of People To the Oath of Loyalty To the Elected On the Throne of All Russia Monarch Michael Theodorovich 1613 in February

I kiss this Holy and Life-Giving Cross of our Lord in oath to my monarch the Tsar and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia, and his Tsarina and Great Princess and their Royal children which God may give them, on that:

I am to serve my Monarch rightly and will them good in everything without any wile; and other than him, the Monarch, not to will any monarch from other states, Lithuanian and German king and princes, and Tsars and Tsareviches from foreign lands, nor from the Russian houses none, nor Marina nor her son, for the Moscovy and Vladimir State and for the Great States of Russian Tsardom, and not to seek State under him the Monarch. And where he the Monarch in His Royal service should will me to be on his Royal service, to serve him the Monarch and fight his enemies the Crimea and Nogay and Tithuania and German people and the traitors for him the Monarch, not sparing my head to the death; nor to move to Crimea, Lithuania and Germany nor to any other States, and with traitors of him the Monarch not to correspond, and in nothing to betray by any deed nor by any wile, nor attach myself to any theft.

Also I am to protect the health of the Tsar the Monarch and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia, not to think of any ill to him; and where I learn or hear a conspiracy or society or other evil intent I am to fight these people for my Tsar the Monarch and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia, and if I am able to seize them and prevail over them, and bring them to the Monarch; and should I not be able to capture them by any measure I am to report about that society or conspiracy to the Monarch or his ministers or people close to him.

Also I am to fight like my enemies, to the death, all who not rightly serve Tsar the Monarch and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia.

Also I am not to do anything without the knowledge and the direction of the Tsar the Monarch and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia, and not join societies nor conspiracies against anyone, and not to rob nor murder anyone, and not to do evil to anyone, and in everything serve Tsar the Monarch and the Great Prince Michael Theodorovich of all Russia rightly, and wish him good without any wile, as per this kiss of the cross. I kiss this Holy and Life-Giving Cross of our Lord on all as stated in this writ.

1 Samuel 8: When Samuel grew old, he appointed his sons as Israel’s leaders.[a] 2 The name of his firstborn was Joel and the name of his second was Abijah, and they served at Beersheba. 3 But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.

6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king. 8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you. 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”

10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle[c] and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”

19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”

21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”

Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”

Having a King is what the heathen desire. That's why America never had a king.

Christianity existed for 2,000 years. With rare exceptions, Christian societies have been all monarchies. Funny thing, as 20c. destroyed some monarchies it also saw a rapid decline of Christian faith. Any thoughts?

America has no king because there wasn’t another one to be found and as the Declaration of Independence plainly points out, the existing king badly neglected his duty to the American people.

Your Bible quote does not describe a Christian king, does it? Further, It is from King David (not prime-minister David) that Jesus descends.

“We’d do much better. In fact, if any country takes any elected leader at all and takes an oath of loyalty to him and his heirs, similar to the one quoted, that country would immediately do better simply because the erstwhile president/prime minister won’t have to hustle another re-election.”

So of America swore an oath of loyalty to Obama, and to his Daughters who would follow him,,, you believe we would do better because Obama would be freed from considering the next election for himself or his party? Amazing.

Washington was a possibility, indeed. Maybe one day we shall find one who’d agree to be the King of America.

American experiment of a republic has not been terribly successful only after 200 years. Christian monarchies did just fine 2000 years. Why should I worry about what Paine thought?

If Obama does not have to hustle reelections and can pass on presidency to his children, he will immediately show greater concern for the country. He won’t be good, but he will be better. For one thing, he would balance the budget.
