[Vanity] My older Brother has invoked his DNR - 41 years a Quad is enough! [Vanity]

Pardon me for being personal for this time of grief.
My older brother, USMA grad of 1972 who broke his neck bodysurfing and has been a Quad ever since, has declined a permanent tracheotomy and will probably leave us soon. For 41+ years, he has been my hero, making lemonade out of the lemons and having a good family life as well. As a good Christian, we know his body will no longer be his prison and he will be free.
For me it is just that having lost our Father in April, this leaves me somewhat adrift and feeling bereft. I know that I will overcome and adapt but this will be a hard time for me in the near future.

I know it is trite but at least tomorrow I will be able to say goodbye. All of you out there, know that you may not have that tomorrow with your loved ones. Say "I Love You" frequently and often.

Your brother sounds to be a brave and honorable man. May the Good Lord bless you and yours with comfort and understanding. And on the Last Day may you be joyfully reunited in Heaven. As an aside, I do wish autologous stem cell therapy was further along in testing. With the severity of his condition, the preparedness to meet his Creator, and training provided by military service, he sounds well suited for a study.
