This Olympic speed skating finish from 2002 looks like every socialist's dream...

The race leaders get dragged down and the last place guy swoops in for the win. What more could the left want?

The only thing that make my analogy fail is that these skaters were dragged down by accident, not the politics of the incompetent and ignorant.

A big part of the skills involved in speed skating is in trading speed for stability without compromising too much on either. The participant with the best ability to do the above won, and how this can be stretched into it being an analogy for socialism is the biggest mystery of the century.

Okay, I accept the first part -— the delicate balance between speed and stability. The guy with the best ability to do the above won? What? No, the guy who was way back in last place managed to be incompetent enough in his skills that he was far enough behind to avoid the collision. The analogy to socialism, in interpreting the poster’s comment, is that the guy who probably did not train hard enough ended up with the gold medal that he did not really deserve. In the socialist world, you don’t have to work as hard. There is little incentive to do so. You can sit on your butt, watch Jerry Springer, pop out babies, and get others to pay for everything.
