All the communists I have known spit and sputter when you ask them to name one (just ONE) communist system that has ever worked.
Don’t they always fall back on the “we’ll do it right this time” or “the right people weren’t implementing it” or “they didn’t actually implement real communism” arguments?
I was a captive audience at some socialist propaganda one day, and I found myself musing about a little vignette I had seen in the Readers Digest:During WWII in Britain, a sergeant saw a man inspecting totaled airplanes in a junkyard, and asked him what he was doing. The man replied, "Im finding out where these airplanes were hit. The sergeant asked what he planned to do with the information, and the man replied, Maybe we can put armor in the places that airplanes get hit the most. The Sergeant replied, Son, planes get hit everywhere, and youre only looking at the planes that made it back. When you've found out where those planes got hit, you put your armor everywhere else."The point, obviously, is that if no example remains of a certain thing (such as true communism), maybe it is because any attempt at it has disappeared without a trace. In the case of true communism, maybe it has been tried plenty of times - but whenever it has been tried, it automatically converted over into the corrupted form.Exactly as FA Hayek predicted in The Road to Serfdom.
