When I see young girls selling cookies and asking me to purchase some, how do I respond?
How about:
“Sorry sweetie, but the Girl Scouts management has made some bad mistakes and I don’t want my money going to them. But if you have another donation group in mind, say like the YWCA (ykids.org) or the Boy and Girls Club, then I would be happy to donate to that.”
What’s the alternative to the Girl Scouts for young girls?
I hate drawing kids into conflicts created by adults but the Scout organizations have brought it to this. What to do?
I just tell them, I can’t afford it now that Obama has taken my health care away.

Here in Washington state, many of the YWCAs are extremely feminist and anti-male.
You say “No thank you” and move along. The only way I would bring a child into a discussion like that is if it was my child and I were explaining to her why I was pulling her from Girl Scouts.
I don't buy them because they contain high fructose corn syrup. I don't explain to the girls why, I just politely refuse. If the parents don't know better, sorry, but it's not my job to educate them.
