“....but they can do nothing against a determined, CONSTITUTIONAL force.”

.
That was true until the time 0bama occupied the WH because, unlike previous presidents, he is willing to wage war on this country.

EXACTLY !!

THAT'S my point.

I'm not a Constitutional scholar, but I think the State's have SOME kind of autonomous or sovereign power over and aside from the Fed.

And I don't understand wht States just say ... "Oh .. OK" and slither away.

I don’t recall an active response from the Branch Davidians during the assault on their compound.

Regardless, co-President Hillary Clinton should be held to account for this should she seek the RAT nomination.

Many in Tennessee think the tax incentives are too generous. I don’t know enough to have a strong opinion either way.

With all these enticements PLUS no state income-tax, when is your company moving to Music City? Chattanooga’s very nice!

My company has a HUGE facility in TN....and pretty sure we wouldn’t be spending hundreds of millions there if it weren’t for TN being so inviting.

We’re in Memphis.

I just went checkin' 'cause I thought someone fired from inside the house, through the wall to ATF on the roof, but when I looked ... all I found was "expose' " type films indicating 3 ATF went into the house first and THEN shots were fired through the wall .. inside to outside.

So my comment may be out of line ... I was speaking from the TV memory of ATF being fired on from inside the house.

Does anyone know if the Beretta plant in Maryland was a union shop?

I think the being fired on from inside the house assertion was one of many justifications that were advanced after the raid.

I also recall allegations related to child abuse and possession of illegal weapons, neither of which were demonstrated later, as reasons to move-in.

The most absurd was the argument that various militia groups were on their way to Waco to dispatch the ATF and spring the Branch Davidians.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall when Bill Clinton presents himself for judgment and this comes up.

My first pistol was an Argentinian Luger that I bought for $40 through a local newspaper. It was delivered through the mail. Ammo was purchased at the local hardware store.

I don’t know if Beretta, Maryland is unionized, but I doubt it. http://www.beretta.com/en/world-of-beretta/since-1526/

Although Maryland is not a ‘right to work state’.

Tennessee is a “right to work” state, with no compulsory union membership.

“Last year, lawmakers in Tennessee passed and the governor signed a measure that allows people with handgun carry permits to store firearms in their vehicles no matter where they are parked, including company parking lots.

When asked by a reporter if Beretta will allow its employees to keep guns in their cars at work, Reh responded, “if that’s allowed by state law, yes.” http://www.cbc.ca/news/

Ruger is coming out with a new pistol in honor of Obama. It will be named the “Union Worker”.

It doesn’t work and you can’t fire it.

Gun Hero of the Day: Sanford Florida Airport Police Cmdr. Larry Dale
By Robert Farago on January 30, 2014

“An armed passenger stopped by TSA last week received concierge-style service from the Orlando Sanford International Airport Police Department,” orlandosentinel.com snarks. “Rather than arrest the man Friday, as is customary at the larger Orlando International Airport, cops allowed Michael Deegan to catch his flight to Ohio and held the loaded .38-caliber revolver for him while he was away. On Monday evening, Deegan returned from Columbus and retrieved his gun. He headed home to Fort Pierce without criminal charges, unlike more than 1,000 armed passengers arrested at U.S. airports last year, according to interviews and records.” You want common sense gun control? Here’s your common sense gun control . . .

I have a friend who owns two Beretta handguns, a .45 and a 9mm. I’m sure Beretta’s move out of this crummy state will lift his spirits.

BREAKING: Federal Court Says Connecticut’s Gun Ban is Legal
January 30 2014
by Dan Cannon

In a blow to gun rights everywhere, a federal judge has ruled that Connecticut’s ban on “assault weapons” (yes, that is an actual, legal term in the state of Connecticut now) is completely constitutional.

The court case was brought by a large group of gun manufacturers, retailers, gun rights groups and individual gun owners.

According to The Courant,

“The court concludes that the legislation is constitutional,” senior U.S. District Judge Alfred V. Covello wrote in a decision published late Thursday. “While the act burdens the plaintiffs’ Second Amendment rights, it is substantially related to the important governmental interest of public safety and crime control.”

The legislature enacted comprehensive restrictions on ownership of semiautomatic weapons and ammunition early last year in the emotionally charged weeks following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Troubled gunman Adam Lanza killed 20 first-grade students and six women with a now-banned AR-15 Bushmaster assault rifle his mother bought…

…”Obviously, the court cannot foretell how successful the legislation will be in preventing crime,” Covello wrote. “Nevertheless, for the purposes of the court’s inquiry here, Connecticut, in passing the legislation, has drawn reasonable inferences from substantial evidence.”

The plaintiffs are expected to appeal the decision.

U.S. District Judge Alfred V. Covello is 81 years old and was appointed by President George HW Bush (aka Bush Sr.) back in 1992.
