For a group that proclaims loudly that they're the only tolerant group, ideologically speaking, it seems that progressive liberals are obsessed with hate. They viciously go after any group or individual that does not adhere to the groupthink that liberals adhere to. This bellicose attitude is easily seen at how vicious the progressive left goes after the Duck Dynasty tv show on A&E.
If you were a sane person, you would wonder at the level of vitriol and venom spewed towards the show. After all, liberals know that nobody listens to the opinions of rednecks and hillbillies. Yet the hate has built up in proportion to the show's growing popularity. It hit a crescendo when the family patriarch, Phil Robertson, expressed his views on sin and homosexuality. Now that the new season has debuted with smaller viewership numbers, every liberal media group in the nation is gleefully reporting the change and pondering how long before the show ends. Still, you would think that a show, with its lower numbers, that still has five times as viewers as Stewart, Colbert, or the Girls show on HBO (all critical darlings for the media), wouldn't be labeled as failing. But the progressive left is all about creating the false narrative, so their agenda is to create the illusion that America is over Duck Dynasty once and for all. I will be the first to admit that the show's numbers can actually be in decline. Duck Dynasty has seemed to hit the saturation point where you can't move in a Wal-Mart without tripping over official Duck Dynasty merchandise. I know many viewers are finding the scripted antics not as enthralling as earlier seasons. Another reason for the decline in viewers, and one that the media refuses to acknowledge, is that many fans are still likely boycotting A&E. If you look at the merchandise being sold, either Duck Dynasty or Duck/Buck Commander, they're still selling hot hotcakes.
So why the hate towards Duck Dynasty and the Robertson family? The truth is that they're a threat. They show normal Americans that they're not alone in their faith or in their beliefs. The progressive left has spend decades bombarding Americans with the notion that patriotism, family, and belief in God, are out-dated and not part of our culture anymore. This message has been reinforced through the drumbeat of movies, tv, media, and our school system, but the American character has been stubbornly resistant to this liberal warping.
When everyday Americans seeing a family that is financially and personally successful, without the aid of big government, and who gladly show their family ties and love of God, they see that the big lie pushed upon them by the progressive left is just that...a lie. The Duck Dynasty are rich by dint of their own sweat and labor. They genuinely love one another and don't rely upon scandals to be constantly in the news. Even worse (from a liberal point of view), they profess their faith in Jesus Christ and actually use Christianity as a moral compass. All of these things are anathema to the left.
I believe that when Duck Dynasty first started, the progressive left thought nothing about the show. It is reasonable to think that the show would poke fun and laugh at those ignorant rednecks. I didn't watch the show for a long time because that's what I thought. Instead, America got a show that, while it can get silly at times, shows hardworking people who have dignity and faith. The left was appalled because they thought the show would be a redneck version of the Kardashians or any one of the other media/attention whores that we see on cable every day. But the narrative they thought was going to be shown as reversed, and people began to cheer the Robertson clan.
Expect to see reality shows on tv meant to belittle the South and redneck Americans as the left seeks to once again to make sure people laugh at the bumbling idiots instead of identifying with them. That's why you'll see trash like Party Down South, Buckwild, and Honey Boo Boo being pushed. After all, if you're rural, God-fearing, gun-toting American, then you're just a caricature that should be justifiably mocked. Real Americans are those elites on the coasts who drink lattes, read the New Yorker, and think unbridled patriotism is passé. I know this because movies, tv, and the media all told me so.

Duck Dynasty represents the moral alternative to progressivism; self reliance, achievement by virtue of effort, love of God, solid family values, and true love for one another.
Continued success of Duck Dynasty; indeed, the spreading of this gospel, spells out, clearly, the failure that is liberalism.
They can’t stand it. Keep up the good work, Robertsons.
I have no relationships with any liberals. And I mean ANY liberals. I got tired of being insulted and they were always the ones hurling the insults.
