If they’re still democrats, they ain’t conservative.

So, you believe that there are no conservative democrats?
I guess it would follow that you don't believe there are any liberal republicans. Just curious.

So, you believe that there are no conservative democrats?

Any supposed conservative that would still be a member of that party of extreme liberalism and socialism has the political IQ of a grapefruit. Makes as much sense as a Jew voting for the Nazis. Is a conservative who votes for communists still a conservative? That's a philosophical question I suppose, I would say NO. Just like all the Catholic democrats who say they are "personally pro-life but.." are NOT pro-life in any way that matters. If it quacks like a duck then it's a duck. Conversely if your "democrat friends" don't actually vote for their party anymore then I would be loathe to actually call them democrats, that would be silly. So, no, I don't believe in "conservative democrats", they've gone the way of the dodo.

Many liberals get less liberal as they age, but that doesn't make them political conservatives. Anyone who would vote for Obama, Moonbeam Brown, ect ect is not a conservative.

I guess it would follow that you don't believe there are any liberal republicans.

You need to improve your guessing ability then. Liberal Republicanism is alive and well. Conservative democratism is dead and buried. Democrat officials in conservative areas who claim to be conservative are almost universally liars, it's shame that so many people are so stupid as to fall for them. The era of the parties not being based 100% on ideology, is over.

There are no “Conservative Democrats” at the federal level anymore. What the liberal media terms that to be borders on ludicrous, they’ll call ex-Sen. Joe Lieberman one, but his voting record was 99% leftist. The most “Conservative” Democrat member in Congress is North Carolina Rep. Mike McIntyre, but he is not a “Conservative.” His voting record is about 40% or so leftist. If he were a Republican, that would be considered nearly a liberal (and definitely a RINO). He retires this year and what will likely pass for most “Conservative” Democrat will be 50-60 or even 70% left-wing.

Up until the 1970s, there were still a number of Democrats who were actual Conservatives in Congress (even by Republican standards). You had some, like the late Dr. Larry McDonald of Georgia, who would make John Boehner look like Nancy Pelosi. Unfortunately, with the “Watergate Election”, left-wingers and freshmen members started issuing ultimatums to many of the old-timers with right-of-center records and threatened to strip them of their chairmanships if they didn’t “get with it”, and many either chose to retire or move left in order to keep power.

The last of the actual 80-90% Conservative voting Democrats were either retired, voted out, or switched parties. About the last one in the House was Texan Ralph Hall, who became a Republican (and is now the oldest member of Congress, and oldest serving member of the House in history). It’s virtually impossible for a right-leaning Democrat to even win a nomination, let alone a general election. My state of Tennessee put up one for Senator (won with a plurality, no runoff), but the Democrats completely disavowed him as a candidate when they couldn’t strip him of the nomination.

Conversely, the Republican Party membership has ideological liberals still in federal office (although no 100%ers as they did even into the early 1980s), but you have had even 90% left-wingers such as Sen. Lincoln Chafee of RI, who was defeated in 2006 and switched parties as Governor last year to Democrat, where he has moved so far to the left that even regular leftist RI Democrats were to his right (he’s also the most unpopular Governor in the nation and chose not to run again for a 2nd term this year).
