Designed by Ralph Lauren, the opening-cermony uniforms released today are garish, undignified, and downright embarrassing-
or am I silly for somehow expecting them expecting to look like impressive grown-ups?

To top it off, he's got 'RL' on every single item,

and the sweater says 'Polo' rather than 'USA'...

LOL,, those aren’t even remotely close to “hip hop gangsta”, badly designed hipster but definitely not hip hop. FWIW Lauren is a Republican and his been called a racist from time to time. I don’t know what happened here though.

Yep, the uniforms look VERY "Ralph Lauren". They reek of his style. But, things could be worse. The uniforms could look like this:

I like them - sort of a patchworky theme. Patchwork is culturally very much a part of Americana, implying thriftiness, creativity and homemaking; not bad values IMO.

That said, a big ZERO for the polo logo in the middle of the sweater. It’s tacky!

You're assuming that most Americans even know what the U.S. Flag Code is. I can't tell you how many flags I see that are mistreated.
