Okay, so we have our phone listed on the Do Not Call list including the cell phone. My husbands cell phone keeps getting a call from a number we don't recognize so we don't answer it. After several calls tonight I do a reverse look-up. Sure enough this phone is from NYC and has numerous comlaints listed again it as telmarketing. I have had the phone nuxt to me for about 1 1/2 hours. This person has now called this phone 9 times. At what point does this constitute harrasment?
According to this, “Rachel” has finally been put out of action...

Racheal may have been shut down but Card Memeber Services has still been calling me....
All I can say is that my junk call volume is way down recently.
Last year, I was plagued with “Rachel” calls and “free” home security system calls, something like 2 or 3 per day. They’ve pretty much stopped. All I’m getting lately are occasional political, survey, and charity calls, which are annoying but perfectly legal.

I got a call once from an identity theft scammer claiming to be from an indentity theft prevention service. I told them i already had a plan to deal with identity theft. They asked what it was and I answered that I plan on tracking down the SOB who stole my identity and commit suicide on them.... I told them there has never ben a sucessfull prosecution of a sucessfull suicide and since they took my identity they became me so if did the gene pool a favor and took them out then they couldn’t prosecute me as it was suicide....
Silence was heard as they hung up and never called back....
Cell phone? Once.
I just got a telemarking call on my cell from a 312 area code. No message left.......I’m not calling it back but it pisses me off that I got the call. I registered on that bogus govt. website for do not call numbers and it looks like it’s about as effective as any other F’n govt. agency............
Doesn’t it take a month or 3 before the telemarketers have to purge their lists of a newly “Do Not Call” number?
do you know how long it takes?
thanks!
probably not if you are questioning it ;)
For those unfamiliar with Mabe's brilliant idea:
Ring-ring
You: "9-11 what is the nature of your emergency?"
Them: "Uh ... what?"
You (a bit angry): "9-11 ... What is the nature of your emergency, sir?" ... and so on
Worth the time to listen to Mabe's bit on the web.
i have no idea really.
*laugh* No worries, mate. It just seemed like such an obscure comment that I had to ask. *grin*
Well I learned that I can go on-line to my account with my cell carrier and can block that number. Which I did last night. My cell carrier informed me that it should take effect in a few hours after posting it. Haven’t had any calls today, which they usually start right about now. Again, thank you for the replies........ well the serious ones. There are always a few clowns at the circus.
