Mrs. Submareener and I were at the Marine Corps Intelligence Agency during the time the Marines took back Fallujah and the rest of Al Anbar Province. So we know what al-Qaeda will do to the people who supported the US and Iraqi governments. It is not pretty. We need to pray for the people we abandoned.

My son was involved in the retaking of Fallujah in 2004 (3/1 USMC) . I asked him how he felt about this as he lost a couple team members during that mission.
His comment was “ With this president nothing surprises me!”
This from a marine who reenlisted after getting his ass blown up on his 3rd tour over in that hell hole.

On the one hand, what could he do, short of declaring war?
On the other hand, I will always believe that the Cuban Missile Crisis would never have happened if Kennedy had shown more resolve and personal strength in those two earlier crises.
I think the same thing can be said about FDR.
There is clear documentary evidence that many senior military and government officials in Japan believed that FDR was effeminate and a man of weak character who desired only public adulation.
I will never believe that the Japanese would have attacked Pearl Harbor if Teddy Roosevelt was president.

The US House of Representatives is analogous to a Police Force - - - their main job of Check and Balance is to “arrest” the perp by Impeaching the perp.

I literally STUDIED the whole situation before we got into Iraq the second time. I came to the conclusion that it was right to go in. I read a lot about Saddam’s nuke plans and his progress with chemicals. I definitely believe / know he had WMDs. I saw connections with terrorism, that broken passenger plane they practiced with in the desert, the Oklahoma City Iraqi connection. I was freaking thorough. I ended up supporting the war.
All those guys died. And now, literally for naught -— though their bravery, patriotism, and heroism remains forever true.
We should never support wars without ENDING STRATEGIES. Not exit strategies. Turning tail and retreating is easy. ENDING STRATEGY means the enemy is not going to slap you again because his arm has been blown right off.
Obama is happy about it I’m sure.
I’m not sure if you are making fun of me or not, but it’s fine if you are, I have a good sense of humor about myself.
My point is that any CIC who allows himself to be perceived as weak or indecisive in any way ENCOURAGES an enemy to attack him, or, at least to test him.
