My guess. Treason is good for progressive leftist goals. Some of the biggest heroes to the left are traitors. The Rosenbergs have a special place in the hearts of leftists. Hell, New Yorkers voted in a treasonous communist for their new Nanny. Bill Clinton gave missile technology while getting BJs in the oval office. Of course it makes sense to them.

So the republicans take the Senate and increase their majority in the House. A revolt in the House picks a new speaker. The House then prepare Articles of Impeachment for both Obama and Biden. The Senate convicts both and the new Speaker assumes the presidency.

It is important to note stuff like this, because to the left, stopping the death penalty is the twin of gun control.
This is why I have long advocated that when the left pushes for gun control, in addition to “holding the line” on gun liberty, the right must counterpunch by demanding a faster and more efficient death penalty.
This is an unexpected direction that will catch the left off guard, and forces them to divert gun control resources to defend their attacks on the death penalty.
Just two people, the chairmen of the house and senate judiciary committees, could change the rules so that vile murderers could be executed in under five years from their date of sentencing.
