I have been using an iMac with U-Verse, everything has been fine.
I need to get an older PC on line to use some engineering tools, but it won't connect.
How do I configure the PC?
Is it turned on?
What does the older PC that isn’t getting online have to do with your Mac and U-Verse?
Gatta plug it in first.
Dell Latitude 610.
Was last online with it when I had sbcglobal DSL.
The router config is all.
Don’t know. I had two Macs, a PC, and several IPhones all using my Uverse at the same time. Never had a problem.
Use your AT&T u-verse troubleshooting guide. If you misplaced it, it is online someplace.
ifconfig eth0 192.168.x.x (where x.x is in your network's ip range.
route add -net default gw 192.168.y.y (your router's ip address)
Then you'll need to edit /etc/resolv.conf to point to a nameserver.
That should do it.
You are running linux, right?

Does it have an Ethernet connection outlet?
That is all you need, then download the ATT software and there you are.
What OS are you using?
Call the U-verse Help desk. Seriously.
They can walk you through adjusting the settings.
First check if the computer has a switch for the wireless. Then go to the control panel to configure the wireless.
Cancel your U-verse and stream with Roku or Blu-Ray player with Wi-Fi.
Dell laptops have a switch on the right side that turns wifi on or off.
What version of Windows is it running? Do you have it plugged in through an ethernet port, or are you trying to use wireless?
I removed the Ethernet cable from the Mac and plugged it into the PC.
I tried connecting using my new U-Verse ID and password, but it doesn’t connect.

What else would you like to see?
Plug it into the router with a cat 5 cable - shouldn’t need configuration.
If you are trying to do it wireless, does the old computer even have wireless? You might need to buy a USB dongle. And again, not much configuration should be needed. Although you might run the software that comes with the dongle. Just type in the password for the router, and select the security setting (probably WEP).

As I said, when all else fails, call their Help Desk, you would probably be connected by now.
Sometimes they have to do something on their end too.
