Reid hospitalized for observation

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has been hospitalized after falling ill, his office said Friday.

A spokesman for Reid said the 74-year-old senator was alert and feeling better. His statement did not provide any details about Reid's illness.

“Early this morning, Senator Reid was not feeling well and as a precaution decided to go to the hospital. Tests have been conducted and everything is normal. He is alert, resting and feeling better,” said Reid’s spokesperson Adam Jentleson. “Doctors have asked that he remain in the hospital for observation so he will not be working today.”

Reid worked late into Thursday night and early Friday morning to broker a deal to hold nomination votes before the Senate adjourned, which is expected later Friday.

The majority leader suffered a mild stroke in 2005, leaving him in the hospital and forcing him to cancel some events.

On Friday, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said on the Senate floor that he would be replacing Reid for the day.

“I spoke with him this morning and he sounded good,” Durbin said. “We look forward to his speedy recovery.”

Hmmm...falling ill during Christmastime which (Depending on the election cycle) is the area between Congresses “lame duck” status and a new Congress. Where, during this time of Reid's rule, some of the most vile and underhanded legislation as been disingenuously pushed through; again hmmm. If I were Reid, I would not take this as a coincidence.

I think he is totally nuts-or maybe he is hooked on psychotropics and that is affecting his physical health. Either way, that man is a danger to others, and possibly to himself as well...
