A number of years ago, ShineFM in Calgary, a faith-based radio station, chose to play Dominick The Donkey about every hour, from mid-November until Christmas. Another year, they chose to do the same thing with I Want a Hippotamus For Christmas. At Christmas time, lots of kids listen to Shine FM, so they got lots of requests from kids to play these songs. These two songs should rank in the top five worst Christmas songs.

The first hundred times hearing these pieces, I found them cute, but the novelty eventually wore off and "Enough is too much, already!" I am slowly learning tolerance of many things and patience from the Holy Spirit, He has not yet succeded in teaching me tolerance for these two songs!

I have to say some of my best Christmas memories were sitting with friends, barflys, drunks and bar gals in a broken down mom n pop bar around noon on Christmas Eve.

We all sang Here Comes Fatty Claus over and over all afternoon.

Not a song for families but...

Good times.
