Could This New Congressional Resolution Lead to Impeachment of Obama?
Minutemen News ^ | 12/15/2013

Posted on 12/15/2013 5:22:09 AM PST by IbJensen

At the first of December the House Judiciary Committee held hearings about whether or not Barack Obama has upheld his oath of office by following and enforcing the laws of the land.

It seems clear from that hearing that Obama has indeed broken his oath. South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy (R) asked pertinent questions with regard to the issue at hand. Now, his colleague, South Carolina Representative Tom Rice (R), is set to file a resolution to direct Congress “to bring a civil action for declaratory or injunctive relief to challenge certain policies and actions taken by the executive branch.” This could inevitably lead to impeachment of Barack Obama

While the House hearing dealt with several laws that Obama ignored or re-wrote apart from Congress, the specific one in question was his signature piece of legislation, the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. He has engaged in waivers and rewriting of the law at will, which is unconstitutional according to Article I, Section 1 and Article II, Section 3.

Article I, Section 1 states:

All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.

Article II, Section 3 states:

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

“President Obama has adopted a practice of picking and choosing which laws he wants to enforce. In most cases, his laws of choice conveniently coincide with his Administration’s political agenda. Our Founding Fathers created the Executive Branch to implement and enforce the laws written by Congress and vested this power in the President. However, President Obama has chosen to ignore some of the laws written by Congress and implemented by preceding Presidents,” Rice wrote in a letter to fellow House members to ask them to co-sponsor this resolution.

“This resolution allows the House of Representatives to bring legal action against the Executive Branch and challenge recent actions, inactions, and policies,” he added.

Impeachment is necessary for the preservation of the country as we knew and loved it. It may be improbable with the eunuchs who presently lead the Republican party. However just beginning the process in the House is necessary to cause Obama and his enablers to pause in their destruction of the country. To do nothing is not an option. He has three more years to cause ruin.

Bubba was indeed impeached.

He wasn’t removed from office because he was never convicted of the crime(s) for which he was impeached.

Impeachment is a useful way of controlling the President, but only by making influencing public opinion goes against him. In Clinton’s case. his party stood firmly behind him. Al Gore was out there as chief cheer leader. Had to, even though Gore knew that Clinton had messed up his chance of succeeding Clinton in 2000. But absent the impeachment the Democrats would have won the White House again in 2000 , the senate, and maybe the House. Ironically, House members may have thought the impeachment worked against them.

It’s very possible that in the very near future (as this idiot moves very fast from one topic to another) Americans may revolt and the unfortunate result may be gruesome.

Gruesome is almost a guarantee, whether we tolerate evil in our White House for three more years or act to put an end to lawlessness from DC. As for revolt, I would prefer a peaceful solution that will take us back to the rule of law, but when the White House is revolting, it's hard to blame the people if they also revolt.

Clinton was impeached, did it change anything?

Obama could get impeached weekly, but the Senate would NEVER convict.

An impeachment is not a criminal indictment. It’s purely political. It is more like a vote of no confidence in a parliamentary system. But it must be ratified by a two-thirds vote in the Senate. Once removed from office, the president can then be indicted for any crimes he may have committed. Which is why Ford pardoned Nixon, to spare him that risk.

Maybe it’s time for George W. Bush, who spent so much blood treasure while sacrificing his Presidency to save Iraq, to break his august silence in an attempt to save his own country. Perhaps he could offer the historical perspective of the things he never tried or was advised not to do in the name of preserving the Constitutional separation of powers. You only need look at Katrina, where he awaited the request of Louisiana Governor Blanco for aid, as per the law, while he was viciously maligned for doing so.

They say give him enough rope and he will hang himself.

Obama has enough rope to hang the whole administration, and it should be done. Removal of just Obama won’t do the job, we will still have a Justice Department run by a racist, HHS run by an incompetent, State Department run by a Traitor, and the rest need to go too.

This exercise, and more of it, if it gets plenty of coverage, is the only sure method left to us that teaches the Constitution to at least two generations, in a way that circumvents the public schools who either leave it out entirely, or rewrite it.

Everything, even American history, has to be marketed around and outside of the ever narrowing confines of indoctrination going on in the schools.

Call it “twitter history”. Good for Gowdy and Rice. Run with it, regardless whether it snares Obama.

Barry is no idiot. He projects that image of idiocy on purpose. Everything being done with health care and its roll-out is purposeful: to destroy Health Care, instigate chaos, and cause revolutionary violence on behalf of the left.

This is treason. And it should be apprehended and punished.

President George W. Bush made it clear that he had no intention of enforcing U.S. immigration policy or closing the Mexican Border to illegal immigration—in violation of his oath of office to uphold U.S. law.

“He will be allowed to continue his distructive path all because of the single word that strikes fear in all the white folk, racism.”

Exactly. THIS was point of the mental conditioning known collectively as Political Correctness. THIS was the reason they wanted people to simply get used to complying reflexively rather than intelligently. PC implants a remote control into people. “Thou Shalt Not Lie” is so simple a command and yet so dangerous to ignore.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
