You are getting local ads.
The show is sold to radio stations who in turn sell advertising space during it.
These are likely not his advertisers but are the local station’s ads.
Bump for ‘post of the day’
classic R-Bo:
“This country is on the edge, if libs dont get us the GOPe will. We need to take action and fight back right now.
By the way, did you know that identity theft is on the rise? Have you signed up for Life Lock yet? Call now and tell them Rush code RUSHSUCKER5 and get a 20% discount now”
“Cant Rush get better commercials than “Final Trim “ or “AF Plus””
I don’t get these ads on my local station, either.
Let me recommend a product that Rush touts directly--Sodastream! I own a penguin, and love the fizzy water.
Full disclosure
I have also done not so badly with the stock.
I have been in the content biz for over a decade, usually the station owns part of the commercial time and the affiliate gets the rest. Very possible he has nothing to do with those commercials you hear.
Haven’t really listened to the guy in years. I keep hoping he will get on the Tea Party train and say it like it is. Boehner needs to go, Cornyn is really a RINO, etc., etc. Can anybody tell me if he goes here?
Here in Madison we getthe ads that claim if a woman has any of the symproms normally associated with menopause, she “probably” has hormonal imbalance and should take Amberin.
That one is followed by the danger caused for aging men who have less testosterone, the “hormone that makes you a man” including the testimony from Cal in Las Vegas, who now has a “new zest for life!”
Sadly the Fluke Affair DID manage to scare most mainstream ad buyers off of him.
Be lucky he has advertisers. In my area, I hear the spoofs more than ads.
Direct your bitch at your local station. Those are local spots and have nothing to do with EIB network ads -- aside from the fact that they're paying a premium to the local station to be adjacent to the Limbaugh show.
They’re network ads. If your local affiliate sells a local ad during that same time, they play that instead. Same with the gag ads such as the famous “Spatula City” spot that used to run back in the day.
You’re listening online and that’s about the cheapest local ads one can buy
Local ads, doofus
I don’t get the tractor commercial he does. I wouldn’t think an endorsement by Rush would be worth much in that particular area.
I keep looking online for that place he advertises called Spatula City! Sounds like they have all kind of nice ware. Looking to get a new Spatula for the little woman!
I stopped listening to Rush BECAUSE of all the commercial breaks. I really enjoyed listening to him in the past. I just can’t stand it anymore. Someone needs to edit all the commercials out—I bet his 3 hours would shrink down to no more than one hour.
Here in Dallas we also get the “Final Trim” ads every break, followed by an HHS ad for Native American health care. Over and over again. And they say they can’t cut the budget. I guess it’s intended for all those reservations we have here in the DFW area.
If you want to get a good listening experience, listen online! The “commercials” are hilarious spoofs on ALGORE, Harry Reid, and other “morons”. Some very funny ones! They play often, but I prefer them to commercials!
