I dare liberals to buy a McDonald’s franchise, and pay the workers $15 an hour

Liberals are always talking about how easy it would be for McDonald’s to pay its workers $15 an hour.

However, so far, no liberal has actually bought a McDonald’s franchise and paid those wages.

So, I dare liberals to prove that it’s as easy as they claim it is. I dare liberals to buy a McDonald’s franchise, and pay the workers $15 an hour.

$15.00 is only 20% above what the minimum wage was in 1968 when adjusted for inflation.

To me that’s one of the most irritating things about this. They’re harassing small businessmen.

Why not small bar owners or little party store owners? Because they don’t have a big name to attach their grievance of the day to.

But the liberals are able to sell their “views” to the American people who are looking for a “break”.

I would say you would need less employees and demand a hight quality applicant. I would say the customer would benefit form not having illegals and tattooed borderline retards serving them. But then again what do we do with the untermensch?

I don't think I need to crunch the numbers but, at 15 bucks an hour, with a (some) 24 hr day, and a staff of (avg) 5, AND average a burger at $5 ... You need to sell 360 burghers to generaste the $1800.00 just for payroll. That's 30 burghers per/hr.

Go watch a McDonalds during off peak hrs and see what kind of business they do.

When I worked at a suburban McDonald's back in the Stone Age when production was more labor intensive, we averaged ~800 units an hour during the prime-time lunch hour and ~ 600 an hour an hour during the prime-time dinner hour. The hour before and after the prime-time was about half the prime. That's 2800 units per day during this crucial six hour time period. Total hourly staff during these periods was 12.

I have no sympathy with mega-businesses. And, even the metro McD franchisees where these protests occur are mega businesses with sales in the 100’s of millions, even into the billions in major cities.

These corporate pukes encouraged Bush’s government expansion, then Obama. Most of the top executives in these places are Demorats. Only the old timers there are real conservatives.

They made their bed, let them wet it.

And, as far as the wage earners who will lose their jobs from a higher minimum wage, those are the Obama’s core constituency. Screw them. Elections have consequences. Even unintended ones.

Excuses I get usually involve how much money it takes to run a business, that there are already too many businesses and the competition would be too fierce.

I am not kidding, That is what they say!

They also love to cite some single-location restaurant that you’ve never heard of, with 5 employees that pay 15.00 an hour, as PROOF that it can be done EVERYWHERE. Nevermind other variables that cant just be applied all over the country.

The numbers work like this... say you consistently have a 20% labor cost. The stupid government comes along and doubles your labor cost from 7.5 dollars per hour to 15.... (we’re assuming you can’t schedule less people etc and you have to accept a double labor cost). If your wanting to maintain a labor cost of 20%... 20 percent is how much you need to increase your revenues. So you either sell 20 percent more stuff... or you raise your prices to achieve that.

Actually I said that wrong... if you want to maintain your same net profit... you increase your gross sales 20%. Its early :)

besides making the cost of everything go up, raising the minimum wage for the dumbest of the dumb devalues every actually good employee you have.

As the salary of the minimum wage idiots creeps up... it starts getting closer and closer to the salaries of your low level managers. So why strive to become a manager and deal with all the stress when you can just sort of push a mop and make almost as much.

You're right... let me say this...

the mentality that says "I'll just push a mop because I can do that and make as much money my boss"... that's the mentality that works for minimum wage. There's no fixing that no matter what you pay them. You pay them less... they're still gonna work for minimum wage. You pay em more... they're still gonna work for minimum wage.

$15 per hour * 8 hours a day = $120 a day

$120 per day * 5 days a week = $600 per week

$600 per week * 52 weeks a year = $31,200 per year

um.. most public school teachers with advanced college degrees don’t even earn that much.

It would be nice to see .gov cut back on entitlements and benefits and in the same time the private sector increase their pay so that we would stop subsidizing their workforce via such .gov benefits.

WalMart and McDonalds relies on .gov providing their workforce with subsidies.

Liberals just emote they don’t think. Rationality is not in their nature. If it came to survival of the fittest they would be the first to die. Deep down inside they know this and it rattles them to the core.

...but how does having less employees serve to give people jobs...especially at the job entry level where work ethics are learned? Less employees is what Obama is causing, and what the increase in minimum wage would cause. This strategy promotes a welfare state...teaching people they don’t have to work by cutting them out of the process. We have to get people off the couch and off the welfare checks. Reducing employees by increasing the minimum wage is the exact opposite of the intended direction of productivity and exceptionalism...it is socialism. We should LOWER the minimum wage...creating more job opportunities and more employers.

We ain't talked yet about rent, electricity and a million of etcetera's for the example I've invented.

Don't forget higher wages for supervisors and managers. The $15 an hour workers can't be making more than them.

The real problem is that Big Government and Big Business has been suppressing wages for decades. They want to flood the country with illegal aliens to suppress wages even more.

In the North-east and Westcoast, high cost areas, you could pay wage that and be fine.

Before the last recession started, the starting wage for a fast food worker in my part of flyover country was more than $10 a hour. I am not sure what it is now, but with unemployment at ~8.5% in my area I think it safe to say that it is less than $10 a hour. If they raised the minimum wage to $15 here, that would kill off just about every food joint except fast food joints in the highest traffic corridors.

What good would that do?

I vehemently demand a “living wage” for workers.
I feel good about myself.
Mission accomplished.

What more is necessary?
