An aggressive timeline for passing comprehensive immigration reform may become a reality based on two significant developments on Capitol Hill.
One of them is that House Speaker John Boehner has hired an Immigration Policy Director who has deep experience in overhaul efforts. The other is that in recent weeks, various Texas business interests have told Quorum Report that Boehner has been telling them that he will start holding immigration votes not long after the filing deadline has passed. This, of course, runs counter to conventional wisdom that says immigration votes in the House will have to wait until 2014.

If you subscribe, I would hope you don't if you're truly a FReeper...then, at a mininum you need to post 'the rest of this two-bit' story, sooner than later.
Time for TEXAS to tell DC to shove it up their ass.
So if we know this is in the works, WTF is being done to stop it?
In TX, the deadline is fast approaching for a primary candidacy. Thus far, Cornball is as good as a Cornhusker in Lincoln.
and maybe a bunch of the rest of us too
Boehner has a 90 percent approval rating from his own caucus.
Not around here he doesn’t.
Still trying to get Gohmert to enter the fray.
Kronberg’s LIBERAL based rag, the Quorum Report is nothing but an Austin propaganda hit piece. True, its all based on legitimate news but only the news that benefits their LIBERAL subscribers. It’s either pissin’ on Republicans or makin’ hay for the RATs.
Hey, that works just fine for me! The more, the merrier!
Now, please pass the lefse.
But seriously, I do like Lutefisk. But you have to get it from a good source. My brother gets if from a guy in central Mn. It’s prime. Then you bake it. And then, this is the secret, you throw half if it away because it’s no good. The rest is prime.
And you have to have to drink some akavite before hand. So the fish has something to swim in.
now I am drooling good thing that St Lucia’s day is just around the corner my Swedish eating will start in earnest
I used to really dislike the stuff. the cat would leave the house two weeks before Christmas and not return tip after New Year’s for fear of being slipped some. But those were the days when you still had to do a fair amount of soaking before cooking. The ladies at the church convinced my mom that baking was a no no so she did what they all did . boiled. Nothing like gelatinous white fish in a white sauce to just make life grand for a child’s palate.
Fortunately as freezing techniques got better so did the fish. And yes baking is much better than boiled.
Brown beans, meatballs, fruit soup, mashed roots (usually turnips but sometimes with rutabaga), boiled potatoes, cheese with caraway seeds, now I am just making myself crazy . and how could I forget pickled herring and ox eye???
Boiled lutifisk, it’s just awful. Horrible. That’s not what we eat.
Nor us any more. But in those days 9 early 50s) and with church ladies being from ‘the homeland’ we did it they way they said.
Later on we all learned better
IMPEACH THE IDIOT BOEHNER !
The absolute best lutefisk dinner in the world is the First Lutheran Church in Duluth. Beatrice Ojakangas runs it it. Anyone who has had lutifisk made Bea will swear by it.
Too bad I am nowhere close but if I ever get there I will remember to seek it out.
Those ladies at the Lutheran Church know how to handle a good dinner
Make EVERY candidate sign a contract. If they get elected and then vote for amnesty sue them.
Let them relocate to Mexico all they talk about is illegals and all we get is Obamacare { whoopee } and tax increases, high healthcare rates, etc, etc, etc.
