On Oct. 22, Deputy Sheriff Erick Gelhaus, a marksman with 24 years in the (police) department, exited the car, took aim, shouted "drop the gun", (an AK-47 like, toy). As the boy turned (forensics document), seven penetrations in the center and right upper center & central lower quad. Three shots enter standing and falling, exiting the chest and face, Four enter prostrate with two exiting the top of the skull, one remaining in the lower abdomen and one exiting thru the left knee cap. Erick still feeling threatened hand cuffed riddled the 13-year-old, advised him of his 5th, then (cpr) pounded the remains of the child's chest and .. and...
The carnage occurred in broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon near Andys home on the outskirts of Santa Rosa,
Andy Lopez Cruz, was slain on Oct. 22, 2013, by sheriffs deputy Erick Gelhaus in Santa Rosa, California. Deputy Eric walks your street.
Boog, “He shouldnt have a job in any law enforcement capacity”
Those who knew him should hang their heads and cry. His bosses need answer for criminal negligence. Fat chance.
R.
Now watch the Sheriff's office and other powers in the county circle the wagon to defend this rogue cop from accountability and responsibility. Watch them spin (lie) and try to whitewash this incident.
Let me see if I understand this: you do not like a post, so you get to deside who can be on this forum? If you disagree, they should disapear? Wow! What power you have! When I was 15 I was carrying real assault weapons around. Even on my bicycle. My friends and I would walk through town to the local woods to shoot. We had m-1 carbines. And others. No one ever said anything to us. If the boy was not pointing the fake rifle at the cop, the cop should get murder II.
I can hardly wait to see the results of getting a gang of wackadoodles to froth at the mouth and wryth in protest at City Hall.
SHOUT: “ CRUCIFY HIM!”
or why not form a Citizen’s Committee and start a law suit by raising money, and go to court apply for a writ of certiorari with mandamus in support, so that the conclusions and evidence of the police investigation can be reviewed in public, and a termination of the officers career achieved.
Oh sorry, thats right, a law suit might actually achieve justice, I forgot that all you want to do is writh and foam at the mouth, like all the other DU idiots who live in Santa Rosa, where AK-47s are stock in trade of the drug cartels now there, thanks to Obama’s immigration policies and fast and furious gun running.
“The 14 year old kid simply refused to comply with police damands to drop what was seen as a genuine weapon. That got his ass killed.Tragedy”
Let’s see that video. Or are you of the mistaken impression that police officers never lie? I’m curious why you pinged Jim Robinson. Are you a moderator on this forum?
You are irrational. By your statements, it’s okay for a cop to shoot anyone on the street just because they are carrying a weapon.
That’s just what the Nazis did in Germany.
Isn't that what Hillary calls Benghazi???
My Opinions do not count for much and no one will like this one, but if that police Officer had been carrying a 6 shot revolver he would not have fired so many shots into the kid.
Perhaps only one.
He shot him while he was on the ground. Anyone who can possibly justify murdering someone like this should resign from the human race.
“Three shots enter standing and falling, exiting the chest and face, Four enter prostrate with two exiting the top of the skull, one remaining in the lower abdomen and one exiting thru the left knee cap...”
Whatever people want to believe, this was a cold blooded execution of a 13 year old kid. Gangbanger or not, this was beyond overkill.
“get Eric off the street and into a padded cell.”
I could not disagree with you more, this police officer does not deserve a padded cell and by all means should be allowed to keep his badge.
His badge should be embroidered on his prison uniform and thrown in with the general population, preferable some of the most murderous Latinos there are. To be fair and to ensure his protection, a bulletin should be passed out to all inmates advising them why the guy is in prison and if anyone touches them they will be sent to bed without supper.
I’ve been around rogue cops before, fortunately not the murderous ones, and know full well they all cover for one another.
Or maybe none.
What a twit - yes, you.
There’s no reports anywhere that this kid had ever been involved with any gang or had ever been in trouble before.
The 14 year old kid simply refused to comply with police damands to drop what was seen as a genuine weapon. That got his ass killed.Tragedy.
I assume you figure that this happened all the time thru the 20th century? Do you? Frankly I never heard of it.
Neither will accepting absurdities like "I thought I was shooting my taser" or "I thought that AK with the barrel snapped off was the real thing!"
Candor, the reaction of a 13 year old child to a policeman’s demand of authority would be much different than that of a hardened criminal who knows the drill. Shouldn’t an officer have the ability to recognize the situation at least equal to his ability to shoot to kill?
I pray that you or I would handle the situation to the officer’s liking if he comes down our street.
Ah, well my mistake. Still, despite whatever California’s laws are, the order and shooting were illegal, since the 2nd Amendment supercedes California’s unlawlful gun laws.
Hey, look at Santa Rosa. How many Drug gang brainiacs are running around with AK-47s?
Sue the Police Dept and the Police Officer.
Ask for a remedy.
Keep the DU screamers home unless you want to raise litgation money.
