Picture from the Gary Police Department, for the August 2012 event. 129 firearms were turned in.
Gary, Indiana, will be having a gun turn in even on Saturday, 23 November, 2013. While these events are commonly labeled with the propaganda term "buyback" the guns were never owned by the people attempting to buy them. Gary has had these events in May 2012, August, 2012, October, 2012, December 2012, and possibly others. These turn-in events usually bring in between 50 and 130 firearms, some of them quite valuable.
The event will be held at six churches in the area:
Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1831 Virginia St.
Pilgrim M.B. Church, 1301 W. 21st Ave.
Embassies of Christ, 4285 Cleveland St.
Grace Unity C.O.G.I.C., 3435 W. 21st Ave.
St. Andrew AME Zion Church, 749 Chase Street
Beyond 4 Walls Christian Center, 875 S. Lake St.
No way I would go into Gary, even for a gun. That place is a hole that should fall into Lake Michigan.
Like SUVs, guns just get up and attack people — on their own. It’s scary. So relieved they’re off the street, although I am begining worry about the Thanksgiving holiday with all those carving knives waiting to attack as well. Maybe they should start a turn-in program for carving knives too. That would make me feel even safer.
Wouldn't it be a lot easier to throw it into Lake Michigan?
Maybe, but Lake Michigan don’t be givvin no fitty dolla, yo.
Wow! Great opportunity for cops to pick up some unmarked ‘throw-downs’ for Knockout game perps.
If I were there, I would be mildly concerned that the police might not want any competition.
Thugs are stupid..well maybe. If da be tinking that they be getting a dolla for its...
You would have to shovel the garbage into Lake Michigan. It won't fall. Then you would have to fight the environmentalists for polluting the lake.
It would be easier to erect a damn at the Chicago River and create a huge reservoir. Cut a spillway through Gary (call it a moat). This way you could produce energy, get rid of Chicago & Gary and stop the invasive Chinese Carp that is set to get to Lake Michigan any time now. It's a win, win, win.
