President Obama took to the podium today to address the myriad problems associated with the rollout of ObamaCare. As usual, he expressed outrage and sympathy while promising to fix the problems. The main problem is that Obama is lying through his teeth. The only thing he's upset about is that the forced movement of American citizens to government-run health care isn't going smoothly. He again lied about his constant lying to the public over whether one could keep their health insurance or their doctor if they liked them. He said, "The way I put that forward unequivocally ended up not being accurate.” What a polite way to say that he lied to America and that the media and his progressive liberal allies helped promote that lie, despite knowing that it was all a lie.
Just to show how far reality is twisted in the Obama universe, he actually attacked the media for only reporting on the bad things that were happening with ObamaCare and not the good things. How dare the media report that over 5 million people have already lost their health insurance? The utter disregard that they reported that only 100,000 people total have signed up on the federal and state exchanges? (Don't forget that those numbers are inflated as they are counting everybody who has a plan in their shopping cart as enrolled, even if they had not purchased it.) This is, of course, the same media who covered for Obama with the Fast and Furious scandal, the IRS targeting conservative groups scandal, the Benghazi scandal, and did everything to provide cover for him during the election debates.
Point of fact is that the Congressional Budget Office reported last year that private health insurance plans were going to be cancelled in the millions. Yet the media said nothing and attacked Mitt Romney when he said that this was going to happen. The CBO had also reported that as many 20 million workers will lose their employer-sponsored plans under ObamaCare and yet the media said not a peep. That's only the cancellations we're talking about and not the numbers for those who'll have their premiums skyrocket.
Now Obama has a fix to make everything smoother. He's delaying the individual mandate for a year and directing insurance companies to re-enlist those who were dropped and to continue offering their previous plans for another year. This is troubling on several fronts and will make the situation deteriorate even further. First, Obama is acting like a king again, granting us poor peasants a year-long dispensation at his whim. Many have questioned the legality of him delaying parts of the law as that's the province of the legislative branch of government, but then Obama doesn't worry about the US Constitution. Second, the insurance companies have spent years planning on working to change their policies to fit the so-called Affordable Care Act. The rates for the following year have already been set and the policies written. The America's Health Insurance Plans industry trade group released a statement blasting the decision by Obama. They write, "Changing the rules after health plans have already met the requirements of the law could destabilize the market and result in higher premiums for consumers."
Why did Obama make the decision to delay the individual mandate for a year? The answer is pitifully simple. The first is that he wants to push the full implementation for the law back past the midterm elections in 2014. People are finally waking up and realizing the colossal train wreck that ObamaCare is. Even hard-core liberals like Kirsten Powers is blasting the President as they see their insurance costs double. The other reason is to try to blunt the vote tomorrow over the Republican's proposed If You Liked Your Plan, You Can Keep Your Plan legislative proposal. Obama is working to provide some political cover for Democrats and hopes that the media will once again fall in line in the following year. He's also hoping that the insurance companies will be made a scapegoat if they can't fully implement his decision. Then he'll go on tv and say, "I'm doing what I can, but those evil insurance companies don't want to cover you!" Of course, nothing could be farther from the truth, but Obama has never really cared terribly about the truth.
This does nothing to solve any problems with ObamaCare and that's the entire point. Obama doesn't want to solve and problems. He just wants us all under the thumb of the federal government. We all get to have choices, as long as those choices are government-sanctioned ones. Any choice you make on your own is as "subpar" as your current insurance. Thank goodness that wise leaders such as Obama are here to guide us pitiful peons into the right choices.

I didn’t watch him but heard some audio clips on the radio of his fiasco this morning. Obama sounded like an very illiterate and very angry Adolf Hitler on a rant. What a scumbag. That boy is sick!
