If Obama’s Socialized Health Insurance Tax, (OSHIT), has little or no chance of financial success in 5 years, then why do Federal politicians in “both” political parties try to fix or replace instead of ABOLISH Obamacare?
Don’t affect anybody here. I can’t imagine a single conservative especially FRiends being on Medicaid as they would never allow themselves to have been so desperate to accept such a nonsense program. So in this case it is a “screw” on liberals and I say GOOD.
I have said continuously that Obamacare is a wealth plundering tool for the medical industrial complex. A way to unlock assets for the corporate/government interests.

Title apparently should have read “Medicaid”, not “Medicare” - Medicare is a totally federal program, while Medicaid is a shared state-federal program which is what gives the states the leverage to engage in the practices described in the article.....

Sounds good to me. I think anyone who receives welfare from the taxpayer should be required to pay back whatever they can, whenever they can. There’s no reason that shouldn’t include any assets you have when you die. And no one’s trying to keep this a secret. This is something you should know before you accept the welfare. If you don’t like it, don’t take the welfare.
My question is this. If you’re on Medicaid at 55 and you have a reverse mortgage, who gets your house when you die, the state or Fred Thompson?
Yep, I’ve seen stories come through occasionally about the government seizing and selling homes of destitute old folks living in nursing homes at state expense.
