From the day that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act went into effect to the morning that the federal healthcare exchange went live, 1288 days passed. 3 years, 6 months, and 8 days. In all that time, our federal government could not construct a website that actually worked, and we are still waiting for a final product.
Here are 4 things the United States government accomplished in less time than it has taken to build a working website:
(Number 2 is pretty amazing)

BTT. Some things, you just look at them and weep.
Aha! The Japs bombed the website.
The four things mentioned are successful events that enhanced the greatness of America.
obamacare should not be compared to or even mentioned in the same breath as those accomplishments. obamacare is incompetence at the highest level of our government and is designed to weaken our great nation.
Totally disgusting.
It should go without saying, but for the slow lib lurkers out there yes, that was sarcasm.
The Gemini space program as well, from initiation to first manned flight.
Building the Pentagon took 18 months.
But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills; because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win ...
President Obamao, sometime in 2008
But why, some say, build a web site? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, Al Gore invented the internet? We choose to build a web site. We choose to build a web site in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills; because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win
The website program doesn’t have the Tang.
The Manhatten Project is the most impressive of these as we basically had to build everything from scratch.
The bammycare website already had everything it needed. Imagine if they had had to develop the web and all that it entails. This thing would never get off the ground.
add in all the time for remodeling and reinforcing and adding in the new sub-basement stuff.
this is why you don’t send community organizers to actually build working products. you never see one on an engineering team.
how many vital private products have been successful b/c they had a socialist community organizer directing it?!?
