An assistant librarian says she was fired after reporting two town employees having sex in the library late last month and now she plans to file a lawsuit against the New Mexico town.
Jamie Kurz walked in the Estancia Public Library before opening one morning and heard noises emitting from the childrens section of the library, her attorney, Joseph CampBell, told KOB-TV. When she walked over to investigate, Kurz saw two town employees having sexual intercourse, the attorney said.
Right in the middle of the library, in front of God and everybody, attorney CampBell told the local news station.
After catching the two in the act, Kurz allegedly contacted the town clerk, Julie Carter, and Mayor Sylvia Chavez. She later wrote the mayor asking for time off to avoid a hostile work situation, her attorney said.
Days after Chavez approved her time off, Kurz and Carter both learned they would be terminated, according to CampBell.
Theyre two outsiders, non-locals, he said. You know, they stumbled upon and kicked up a hornets nest.

You've been here long enough to expect SOMEone to target that phrase on a thread like this.
I tried to dig deeper on this story, it seems the only google search returns I got were variations of this story.
It seems odd, like something is missing.
Why did they later request time off?
What the heck?
That would have put a quick end to that kind of behavior.
“Discovery ought to be interesting.”
Yep. The fools running this town are morons to precipitate lawsuits like these.
The Children’s section. Well, of course.
Perverts really do run the country these days
Librarians are hot...
Abstinence makes the labia fonder?
;)
They were just using the Do Me Decimal System.
That’s one for the books..
Lady sounds like she was on her periodical.
Hey! We aren’t ALL liberals!
Down here in the deep south, we would get fired if we DIDN’T do anything about that. In fact, we’ve had events like this happen in our downtown branch. Fortunately, there is usually an off duty officer in the building. It was resolved quick. The participants are banned.
As for Bibles, we have a number of them in the system, reference and check out. The problem is that folks steal the nicer ones. Yes, folks steal Bibles from the library.
I heard that the ‘L’ in ‘PUBLIC’ has since been removed from the sign outside.
Excellent! Thank you!
Geez... You expect this kind of thing is Cerillios not Estancia.
WTFIIWNM?
Low ranked GOVERNMENT employee fired for reporting higher ranked GOVERNMENT employees having sex. Sounds like business as usual in the NOT FOR PROFIT WORLD OF GOVERNMENT!
The town will soon be named Kurztown for its new owner
One on my most favorite phrases... Right there in front of God and everybody.

Well, with the ratio of males to females so high, I guess you can’t blame the guy for getting it wherever he could—even in the library.
Population in 2012: 1,632 (0% urban, 100% rural). Population change since 2000: +3.0%
Males: 1,055 (64.7%)
Females: 577 (35.3%)
Mayor: Sylvia Chavez Police Chief: Jimmy Chavez Public Works: Daniel Chavez
That was my first though, thought I dunno about the Internet (mebbe use it as a threat if they fire you). If you're going to report such a thing, film it first, then yell "HEY!" - and keep on filming.
