During his sermon at this church, Rafael Cruz preached that men, not women, are the spiritual leaders of their families: “As God commands us men to teach your wife, to teach your children—to be the spiritual leader of your family—you’re acting as a priest. Now, unfortunately, unfortunately, in too many Christian homes, the role of the priest is assumed by the wife. Why? Because the man had abdicated his responsibility as priest to his family…So the wife has taken up that banner, but that’s not her responsibility. And if I’m stepping on toes, just say, ‘Ouch.’”

Bulls-eye. And this Biblical position does not denigrate women in the slightest.

Txrangerette, is Cruz’s Leno appearance tomorrow night, or a week from tomorrow?

I read Ted Cruz is scheduled for Nov 8th.

Never knew that Michael Moore also actually sued Mother Jones, he worked there as an editor.

“Michael Moore, who had owned and published the Flint-based “Michigan Voice” for ten years, followed English and edited Mother Jones for several months. After being fired in the fall of 1986, Moore sued Mother Jones for US$2 million for wrongful termination, but settled with the magazine’s insurance company for US$58,000 – only US$8,000 over the initial offering. Moore felt that he did not have a chance to shape the magazine.”

I don’t like the terminology in the Mother Jones article where Corn writes:

“Pastor Cruz is a fiery speaker whose rhetorical red meat is well-received by hardcore Republican and tea party audiences.”

Sounds a bit savage.

Nice try, Corn, you worm. You can’t touch Ted Cruz by going after his father. Your time will come.

Actually....Pastor Cruz is right...Obama needs to go back to Kenya

Seems like the anti-Birthers again are going to cost conservative GOP some more elections. Cannot believe we still have folks afraid to deal with Obama’s eligibility. Cruz, Sr has no problem dealing with it

Father Knows Best, at least in this situation. The man is a private citizen, and as such can say what he wishes. What about all the odd, vulgar remarks Hillary’s younger brother used to make in public, before they stopped instantly bailing him out of trouble?

It’s well over 700 comments! Is that a record? One never knows just which topic will touch a nerve or grab the zeitgeist of the moment. Looks like you asked what’s in the back of 80% of our minds.

Pastor Cruz should run against Cornball and make history.

Would that Corn would direct as much scrutiny toward Rev. Wright.

"Christian nation"... Is there a problem?

Yes, this Jew has a problem with that statement. As would the Founding Fathers:

"As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;" (Treaty Between United States and Tripoli, negotiated 1796 (by George Washington), signed 1797 (by John Adams; ratified 1797 by the U.S. Senate)).

Right, America is not a theocracy.

America has always been and still is predominantly a Christian nation in character.

IMO all minority faiths, jews especially, should hope it stays that way.

That’s what I’ve suggested. Would love to see Pastor Cruz give Corny the smack down.

IMO it's perfectly reasonable to refer to America as a Christian nation. I prefer Judeo Christian, since many of the precepts incorporated in our system of governance predate Christianity, though are incorporated in it. And it distinguishes American Christianity from the European variety, which is quite different in it attitudes to and tolerance of Judeos. An important distinction to this Jew and should be to others. Obviously a secular, religiously tolerant system of governance. Somewhat similar to Israel, a secular democracy, being a Jewish state.

A couple asides. The Tripoli treaty was a political document, probably cited too much by Jewish groups. But accurate, we have no official religion. Some states did at the time, but America didn't. And that was the distinction relative to Europe the terrorists were looking for. We gave it to them, to no longlasting good.

And as to the title. Preachers should be able to say what they want, it's a motivational occupation. If Ted's pop said the US is and Christian nation and Obama should go back to Kenya in the same sentence, that's obviously problematical. Wish he'd lost the election, but he shouldn't go back to anywhere. Eventually, a lucrative retirement defending his failed Presidency. But no where in the article are those statements connected. Or in a couple searches I did. If they weren't connected, the headline is a slander. And though I knew Ted was pro-Israel, I didn't know the Jewhaters think he's an underground Jew, or at the very least him and pop are marranos. Could be, I don't know their family history, but entertaining conspiracy stuff. The Elders probably created the Inquisition to plant undercover Jews in what would centuries later become America.

Let’s hope the Cruz family is engaged in some sort of dialogue designed to eventually disclose and force debate on the true facts of Obama’s birth, identity, and eligibility.
