LONG BEFORE PSY made Korean music famous in the West, much of Asia had fallen under the sway of K-pop: tightly choreographed ditties performed by fresh-faced boy and girl bands, exquisitely manufactured from interchangeable parts. This is an article from The Economist from 4 days back. It's been a while since I've perused or posted. After looking at all the headlines, I just wanted to throw in something rather lighthearted. :)

It has everything to do with Obamacare:

1) There is a large surplus population of single males in China.
2) Whenever a country has a large surplus population of single males there is an increased chance they will go to war to remove the surplus.
3) If China goes to war it will most likely be with the US over Taiwan, Japanese Islands, etc.
4) If we go to war we'll have to increase our defense spending and won't have enough for all of the Obamacare subsidies, web site repairs, union kickbacks, etc.
5) Korean boy bands are producing a glut of potential metrosexual mates to satisfy the surplus male population of China.
6) We need to encourage the deployment of Korean boy bands to China to stave off war so we can afford Obamacare.

Everything's connected!

My best friend, a world class guitarist, is just back from a month-long tour of China. He’s very popular in Asia and Europe, where they still like talented musicians.
